I’m not big on Ewers . I’d rather go Mendoza
Do you think if miami wants mendoza they could have him? I'd think coming back home to play would be really enticing...but I've seen UGA could potentially be interested. Have to imagine he'd be much cheaper than a Mateer

His dad and Mario are close. This one should be easy to seal up. I am sure they were honest with him that Mateer was top choice, but if that didn’t work he was up.

If Emory is our QB next year I don't think we win 6-7 games. I don't get what this is assumption is based on. Look at our schedule and tell me which 6-7 games we are winning with Emory as our QB and why. It's possible, but it's also possible that I win the Powerball and have *** with Marisa Tomei. Not likely though.

If that don't work try to get Ewers or Beck after the playoff. The last two have their issues (mental midgetry for one and throwing the ball excessively to the other team for the other)

Yeah, neither Beck nor Ewers will be mistaken for a cerebral QB.

Mid-round guys from talent-laden programs (UGA's receivers this year aside) who wash out of the NFL in 3-5 years

Just glad he's still out there. Don't wanna be left empty handed. Miami was real fortunate that ward decided to back out of the draft last yr. I think it'd be smart to lock up mendoza early and then if for some reason some amazing better opportunity comes up a while down the road then they can re evaluate. Emory needs a veteran to push him. As cribby said, I think mendoza would win the job and do pretty well behind a solid OL

Agree with you. Still like either one of them more than Emory or a true freshman if we're serious about trying to get into the playoff next year, which we should be.

Will say, sure hope Nickel is a sign that we're serious about recruiting really good high school QBs. We're in this unfortunate position because we went 3 years without signing a QB who could start for us if we hoped to contend for a playoff spot. Not great. Reaping what we sowed now

Ewwwwers scares me tbh...

I've watched that kid play since his Junior year at Southlake & there's something off about him.

He has one of the most naturally talented arms I've ever seen, but he also has so many moments where he just completely mentally checks out & has a meltdown whenever he's met with adversity.

I've seen too many times where in big moments he just goes in the tank & quits.

I was really high on him coming out of HS, but this season has really soured me on him personally. He lacks some mental toughness that's necessary to be a great QB. He kinda gives me Josh Rosen vibes.

Supremely talented, but not mentally capable of handling the pressure. Suffers from rich kid disease.
Reminds me of that one UCLA kid, Rosen.

Beck is 110% a take. Didn't realize he had another year
I'm wishy washy on him.

Iono.

He has these moments to where.... it's like playing you're little brother in madden and he starts to button smash for no reason just hoping someone is there... like memory lapse.... lol

**** Horton and George for not catching those deep passes vs Cal.

******* *******

Bruh…

Legit, I don’t think Jacolby George has ever won on a vertical route since he has been at UM. Outside of that amazing catch he made vs FSU last year and a grab his freshman year @ Duke…and even with those he didn’t create any separation! The amount of times we went to him on 9 patterns and we NEVER connected drove me insane.

Not to mention the little bull**** toss end arounds that we gave him like 3 times this year that went NO WHERE, lol. The kid is NOT a burner, but we kept giving him those opportunities and it drove me insane.

His stats completely tank on snaps where he’s pressured. I mean they fall off a cliff. The opposite of what you want in a QB.

I think he had one TD in AM late also, he scored 3 in that game but at end housed one. But none of our WR really went deep this year. Cam was like 2/9 for 30+ air yard throws.
