QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

Why? Electric playmaker with proven production? We could do alot worse than Castellanos. Got little Kyler Murray in his game.

We got posters on here simping for players that havent shown much of anything.

TC has over 3,000 total yards and 27 TDs in a season in the ACC.

Put him behind our OL, with our running backs, and WRs. I can see lot of explosive plays.
I prefer QBs that you can count on to throw the ball with accuracy and anticipation

People have 5 star on brains. Raiola nor Arnold have shown they have what it takes to lead this offense next season.

Yall can laugh me off the off board, Id take TC over both right now. Maybe in 2 years it'll be different.

Oh Id defintelty take Bailey over Raiola.

Bailey has some IT factor. They'll be some crow on this board as we play Bailey next season.

Anothet QB that has some upside is Anthony Calandra from UVA. Sure no one wants him either as he wasnt a 5 star.
You seem to really like fun, exciting, but middling talent and often reckless play given your insistence on someone like Castellanos and Collandrea. They are the type of QBs who could have some fun to watch and exciting games leading a G5 team, but neither belongs anywhere near a serious P4 program looking to contend.

If they do plan on giving Emory a chance then picking up a Jackson Arnold type QB is definitely a must to go with him. You do not just hand Emory the Job, you bring in someone to compete with him.
Agree. He absolutely deserves a shot at EARNING the starting job. But there needs to be a serious competition so we need to bring someone in with the understanding whoever gets the job will have earned it, not had it promised to them

Disagree. Emory hasn't proven enough imo.

In the 2 games where his play mattered he was

32/56 (57%)
326 yards (163 yards/game)
3 TDs
1 INT

That's fair.
Numbers are pedestrian.
He was a true frosh last season and those numbers are common for true freshmen.
However, I thought he was pretty accurate throwing the ball in an offense that was designed to be very conservative because he was being thrown to the wolves.
So I am projecting him to be good.
I could be wrong.

I'm just saying I don't think he's proven to be accurate. Just don't think he's proven anything.

He should absolutely get a chance to compete for the starting job but we definitely need to bring a transfer in to compete with him.

He hit what he threw at and he seemed to have alot of poise. Again, as I admitted in a similar post, I am projecting and I could be wrong.
He actually wasn’t hitting what he threw at. He was 8/23 vs fsu. And threw 1k screens vs clemson. Had 33 attempts that game and only 150 yards. Maybe he has gotten significantly better but what I saw didn’t give me confidence he could be the guy one day

Mario is Mateer or bust imo.
If not he rolls with Luke.
Imo
Sophomore 14th ranked passing yards his first year after playing Cam's backup. He had a good year. 224 comp out of 347 att 64.6 Pct 3,139 yards 29 TDs 7 Ints
He ran for 826 yards avg 4.6 and 15 TDs.

3,965 total yards and 44 total TDs on the same below average team.

Have not seen him play and have no idea if he has a strong arm. Same bad O Line and average WRs? Cam improved a lot from last year because of the better team around him from WS.

Im saying put either in a great situation, and let them work. Colandrea had no help, but that dude has talent.

TC is dynamic. He wasnt a good fit in BOB offense, but he can play.

I dont know if Arnold can play. He didnt score 1 TD last 3 games. Not 1.

He and TC had 1 common opponent Mizzou, and TC was way better.

Listen maybe I will be wrong, but if Jackson Arnold was a 3 star recruit, NOT one single person on this board would want him.

I prefer Mateer over any of these, and I like Weigman 2nd.

I'm not big on Arnold as a sure thing, but I'd be happy to take him as a project to compete for the job. He is more potential than anything right now. Castellanos and Collandrea are what they are. Fun, exciting, but ultimately mediocre as actual QBs

Not sold on Weigman, would prefer Moss if he were available. Mateer is the best option for sure production but Raiola has the highest potential if he enters the portal

I know the portal is moving too fast for Mario to process, but he really needs to get a quarterback in place Monday cause there’s so many wide receivers to be had

None of the other guys currently talked about are in the same galaxy as Mateer. It's kinda like last year with Ward and everyone else. People were trying talk themselves into being happy with Will Howard.

Was Mateer there under Ward? Do they know each other or did he come in this year? You would think Ward would sell the dream to Mateer (from 5-7th rounder to likely 1st rounder, top 5 in heisman, #1 offense, great offensive line, big nil + add'l nil opportunities - bose, adidas, cologne brand i forget, etc.). Just seems like the smart logical choice to follow Ward here...
