Prediction on Gus Edwards

Right now, he's just not a tough inside runner yet. In space he's very tough to tackle because of his size. Keep feeding him the rock.

It's obvious he's not ready... I mean Duke had a little over 900 yards as a true freshman... This guy isn't Duke... However he has a lot of potential... I like him... He'll be good in the future...

Feel bad for duke man.. Kid was gonna run for 1500 easy. That 1000 yard rusher ha eluded us for quite some time. Hopefully Gus turns it on, but as of right now he is too soft.

Well Miller did provide us with like 1200 his last year... Duke will be alright... The kid is a warrior... I agree he would have had 1500 easy... Gus will be alright as well... I don't think he's soft, I just think he's adjusting to the college game... Its a bit too fast for him...

What makes you think he is soft? He has hardly played. Perhaps we will see how soft he is going forward.

Yes I totally forgot Miller eclipsed a grand. On Gus- buddy has to use his size and bull through ppl.
 
OP - you could see "absolutely no reason" why he would not have the year Todd Gurley had as a freshman? Really, no reason?

Is there any evidence or reason to believe the kid is soft? I would think a decision on that should be reserved until he has real chance to show his softness, something I don't believe at this point is know. I personally think he is going to be a quality back given time.

So just to be clear Gus Edwards is going to rush for 1,000 yards and 10+ TDs in the last 4 games after not playing for weeks. I know we have Pitt, UVA and Duke coming up but maaaaaaaannnn...I want what your smoking.


*Problem is all of the ppl in this thread who actually expect those numbers will come into the boards and rip a freshman RB if he only has 50 yards (if that) this week coming up.

gus should have been redshirted but unfortunately we are not at that point as a program. Playing an elite talent like duke as a true fresh makes sense but Gus needed more development.
