Prediction on Gus Edwards

I like Gus a lot and think he has a great future as a CANE. As surprising as it sounds, if you look back at his carries, he seemed to be very patient, was smooth and made good cuts. I didn't see the power back that was expected and we are all talking about. Hopefully Gus is the real deal and can be part of the committee of running backs.

not sre how anyone can call him soft he hasnt even had a chance to really show his toughness or lack thereof...when he's gotten carries this year, if there's a hole open where the play i designed, he looks great. if he needs to find his own room, he's struggled. this might be concerning to some due to his size, but i think his biggest issue has been that he isn't seeing what's in front of him prior to getting the ball. Not saying it's easy, but I just think once he is able to make that adjustment we will get to see if he's as good as we hope or just average.

One of the most underrated skills a RB can have is patience. I remember so many people ued to get on mike james about it and look at the kid right now...patience for a running back doesnt mean getting the ball from the qb, coming to a complete stop and then going...but something can be said for a running back that can time it so he gets the ball in 2nd gear, identify where he wants to go, and THEN turn it on. Gus hasn't figured that out yet and time will tell if he does. but i dont see how that makes him soft.

did he say todd gurley? oh hes a homer

Would you say that if he chose fsu?

I am interested to see Gus Edwards as Gus Edwards, comparisons notwithstanding. As far as I am concerned he is a CANE who is going to get his chance, we should be pulling hard for him to succeed, he is needed as it Dallas and OT. My mind does not allow me to think of him at FSU, he is a CANE

Just because hes a Cane means nada he shouldnt be playing this year he would of been better for a redshirt but we fked up with recruiting RB depth. The NCAA had alot to do with that but we gotta recruit better RBs this is Miami not Buttgers. We need a major talent influx at this position.

You obviously don't think much of him, think Ray Rice from Buttgers, I say give the kid a real chance before you pass judgment. We all understand what we have come through and what we would hope our roster looked like it, but man it is what it is for the balance of the season and I am all for Winning the Coastal, unfortunately without Duke, other backs are going to have to step up or it won't happen. As IMO it means something to be a CANE, I respect your opinion of feeling to the contrary.

No no no dont get it twisted I think the kid is the goods my thing is I dont think hes ready, and Im also saying that we gotta bring in a stable and not miss on the local RBs. Gus looks good though he reminds me exactly of what Wilder brings to the table and Coley recruited him so Im sure next season he will get a ton of burn. I think we can beat every team on our schedule without Duke but they will be tougher games but to beat FSU in a rematch which will happen I cant see us doing it with Gus and Dallas as our horses.

We good, same page, I would love to redshirt guys like Gus, but we are not in that position at this time, hopefully soon. If we are as tough as Golden wants this team to be, we have a good chance to show it and prove it by wining the coastal.

not so fast my friend most SEC backs are from SEC country this kid is straight out of the Northeast. He could easily get redshirted this season with Duke, Hagens, OT, and Crawford seeing the majority of the touches Don't forget Danny Dillard who got stronger and the transfer from Iowa DeAndre Johnson the kid from Pace. I think he has potential but there is no way in **** he rushes for 800-900 yards with Duke on this team.

Well Gurley is from North Carolina which is not necessarily SEC country. But the fact remains, if you look at what Gurley did in the SEC last season as a FRESHMAN, you don't think Gus, with the same measurements and attributes can't have that same production in the ACC? Don't believe me just watch.

Just because they may have the same build, doesn't mean they are the same player. It's like saying every short qb can become Brees. It's like, a couple of years ago, I was talking to this Saints fan and I told him if Brees goes down they are ****ed. He came back with "Naw, we have C. Daniels". Gurley is just a freak. And if he was that Beast it wouldve already been found out.
