Prediction on Gus Edwards

Can we all wait and see how Gus performs once practice begins before we hand him the #2 spot behind Duke?

hmmm I could swear I heard the same type of enthusiasm last season about Dillard and pretty much every recruit we have signed since the beginning of time.

The new stud freshman is always going to do this and that and one day be in our ring of honor. Some of you guys need to learn to sit back, watch and wait.

If Mr. Edwards has what it takes he will play. If he is average or behind the curve he will shirt. Plain and simple.

I personally hope Dillard get's his head out of his *** and takes that #2 spot. If he doesn't I think Mo Hagans can be our short yardage guy. Clements is the wild card.

1700 yards 33td's minimum. That doesn't even count Dukes 2500 yards 45 td's

I had him at 45 by the 7th game.

1 million touchdowns :drevil:

This guy did not just compare Gus Edwards to Todd Gurley...nope. I did not see that.

You think he gets 800-900 and 11 TD's this year?!

Let me tell you something...that's going to be more similar to his career stats than one year. Y'all is crazy.

I think Gus can be a very dominate rb for Miami... will it be this year, not sure, but i do think we will start to see his potential this year.

His film looks very impressive and If Gus was a recruit from s.florida a lot of ppl who act like he is nothing but a jag on here would be saying the complete opposite.

He'll probably have 250 carries for 1,800 yards with 16 TDs while catching 57 passes for 685 yards and 9 TDs. He'll win the Heisman, we'll go 14-0, the NFL will change it's draft rules so he can go pro, ESPN will make a 30 for 30 about him called "Riding the Gus," Golden will be coaching the Dolphins next year, and Shapiro will be pardoned, but exiled to North Korea to be Kim Jung Un's play toy.

FINALLY, Shapiro gets to be the tall guy in the room!

You're an idiot

I don't think we understand what type of season Gus Edwards can have for Miami. I am going to go out on a limb and say this. If Todd Gurley, who is in the SEC, can put together the type of season he had as a freshman, then there is absolutely no reason why Gus Edwards can't have that type of season in a considerably weaker ACC. Both have just about the same measurables along with the same speed and vision. I think this kid is going to have at least an 800-900 yard season with around 11 TD's running behind an excellent offensive line. As I watch his film, he looks like an SEC caliber RB which will bode well against not so great ACC defenses. I expect by seasons end, he will be up for ACC offensive rookie of the year honors.

I think if he was a s. florida recruit we would have a better idea of what he brings to the table. No matter where a player is from I think everyone can agree you get a much better idea of a player when you can see them up close and personal than lets say a 5 minute highlight film. Now dont get me wrong some kids just jump off film and you will see that doesnt matter if they play in Miami, NY, etc. But even guys who dominate down here sometimes struggle in the step up in competition, so sorry if you think some people think before we expect a player to run for 1k yards before even seeing if they can adjust to the college speed of the game

Well played. Well played.

There's a lot of snaps available for ******* anyone that decides to step up to the plate and do something. Not counting on a freshmens to come in and dominate, but he is going to have to play some.

I gave this prediction when I began this thread and I'm sticking to it. He's on pace so keep watching.

He has exceptional patience as a runner, doesn't seem to be as good from a yard or two out, then again he is a freshman w/o utough

Great when running open field. Great moves for a guy his size, great vision. Just needs to get stronger and lower his pads when defenders stack up. Remember this guy is a true freshman. As with so many of our young guys, it's crazy to think of the talent in two to three years.we gonna hurt some teams, oh Lordy!
