Please stop saying we have ELITE ATHLETES

“Elite” is someone that’s a star. Think Santana Moss or gore or Portis and etc. We barely have any “very good” players on our team and absolutely have 0 elite ones.
and this is exactly my point those aforementioned players you named can score anywhere on the field at anytime. I played against Portis Santana moss and THEY WERE DIFFERENT! moss could take a quick to the house. Portis can take a toss to the house we don’t have anything like that. Maybe Jeff Thomas on a good day.

LIKE I SAID AGAIN AND TO OTHER PEOPLE ON HERE YES! COACHING CAN BE BETTER MORE SO ON OFFENSE BUT WE DO NOT HAVE ELITE ATHLETES. ELITE ATHLETES OVER COME PROGRAMS LIKE FIU GT DUKE WITH POOR COACHING!
elite athletes only win if u coach them properly and they show up to play. if u put your athletes in position to make plays will overcome but when u bring them all into line put 9 men in box a great rb who is an athlete like harris/dallas have no room to run, when u take 5 secs to get a pass play to develop when oline cant block that long u cant make plays. the elite athlete is here. its coaching/scheme letting them down, and their lack of effort fire to be great. but make no mistake the talent is there. the heart might not be but talent is

You listed 5 guys..none of which are Offensive lineman. We want to to annually compete for titles..that’s the standard right..tell me which annual power can list out their best 10 best players every year and not one interior lineman show up... now ask yourself how long has that been the case here...

Clemson hasn't had on OL drafted since 2014. They've had 2 OL drafted in the 11 years Dabo has been coach.

But they've had

QB: Tahj Boyd, Deshaun Watson, Trevor Lawrence
WR: DeAndre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant, Mike Williams, Tee Higgins, Justyn Ross

Good QB's (in Clemson's case, great QB's) getting the ball to big time playmakers on the outside (which Miami hasn't had) is what's holding us back more than anything else.

Maybe. Coaching aside, the adage about a chain being as strong as its weakest link has relevance. It’s not just a few kids who can make an NFL roster who matter. You wouldn’t judge a stock portfolio by its best few positions. We have had too many unfilled scholarships, too many useless dead wood spots, lack of balance, lack of progression, lack of maturity and 4th/5th year kids, and lack of lunch pail grinders. We also have had weak lines, sometimes crap kicking, terrible QB play and awful ST generally for far too much of the past 20 years. Simplistic reference to the nfl draft doesn’t explain this story well. We have evaluated poorly, balanced our classes poorly, plenty of mistakes to go on top of terrible coaching.
very good insight

Idgaf if our oline prospects get drafted..CAN THEY FUNCTION?? Clemson yearly has one of the best rushing attacks in CFB and protect their QBs..we don’t. When we need to run the ball we can’t. When we need to drop back n pass we can’t...our oline Evals have been terrible. The kids are pressed into play way too early way too often

Bro saban wouldn’t recruit more then half the kids we have..let’s be real..roster would look totally different
Yeah but he would definitely whip our guys into shape. With our recruits he would give his Bama teams a real challenge I believe. Does our talent match Auburn’s? I think it’s close to theirs

HTF no bruh..even by the star system we have not been even close to recruiting on AU level..since 2015 we have a couple finishes in the 20s..they haven’t finished no worse then 12th..this is wtf I’m talking about when comes to our fans overrating our talent or just throwing **** out there..in today’s world I guess if you say something enough times it becomes the truth lol..lastly Saban isn’t winning 10 plus with this roster..this roster is on par with Alabama when he 1st took over if we being 💯

Ok I compare our roster to like Michigan or Notre dame. Saban could still win pretty big with that right?...ducking my head..

Nope..Sabans is a great football mind period but sabans greatest strength is the effort he puts into recruiting. College especially, it’s about the Jarrens and the Jamals..in the pros you have these guys all day to scheme, add different **** in and just break it down X’s and O’s wise with them. Think of what Bill does in NE they like many in the league have a Different gameplan week to week almost have a different team based on the matchup ..in college you don’t have that much time with these kids...a lot of it is how fast can they grasp, then take it to the field and let their talent shine. Therefore talent will always be a premium.

Here's how often the starting Clemson QB has been sacked since 2014:

Trevor Lawrence - 1 sack per 33.9 attempts
Kelly Bryant - 1 sack per 14.5 attempts

Deshaun Watson - 1 sack per 30.1 attempts
Cole Stoudt - 1 sack per 17.7 attempts

When Clemson switched to the better QB, they gave up sacks twice as less.

Better QB's are more decisive, confident, smarter, quicker decision makers. You can bring pressure & blitz a good QB less, because they will burn you. Bad QB's fold under pressure.

If Miami had Clemson's QB/RB/WR's - the Miami OL would immediately look much, much better.

Yeah ok..

Yeah ok..

I'll put it to you this way - Miami doesn't have a QB/RB/WR on the roster now that will be drafted in the first 3 rounds.

Clemson has a 1st Round QB, 1st/2nd Round RB & 2 1st/2nd Round WR's starting for them this year.

Since Dabo's been at Clemson - here's who each teams had drafted by position:

QB
Clemson - 2 total - 1 in 1st Round
Miami - 1 total - 6th Round is highest

RB
Clemson - 6 total - 1 in 1st Round
Miami - 5 total - 3rd Round is highest

WR
Clemson - 9 total - 3 in 1st Round
Miami - 5 total - 1 in 1st Round

TE
Clemson - 2 total - 3rd Round is highest
Miami - 6 total - 1 in 1st Round

OL
Clemson - 2 total - 3rd Round is highest
Miami - 8 total - 1 in 1st Round

OL isn't our main problem. QB is by far our first problem on Offense, followed by WR.
