Please stop saying we have ELITE ATHLETES

Just watching some highlights from the NFL games this past Sunday and they showed a Chiefs DB jumping a route. I could be wrong, but the last time our DB jumped a route was JJ in the 2017 Virginia game. You know, the game that started the downward spiral, we squeezed it out, but Pitt continued the spiral the following week

I'll put it to you this way - Miami doesn't have a QB/RB/WR on the roster now that will be drafted in the first 3 rounds.

Clemson has a 1st Round QB, 1st/2nd Round RB & 2 1st/2nd Round WR's starting for them this year.

Since Dabo's been at Clemson - here's who each teams had drafted by position:

QB
Clemson - 2 total - 1 in 1st Round
Miami - 1 total - 6th Round is highest

RB
Clemson - 6 total - 1 in 1st Round
Miami - 5 total - 3rd Round is highest

WR
Clemson - 9 total - 3 in 1st Round
Miami - 5 total - 1 in 1st Round

TE
Clemson - 2 total - 3rd Round is highest
Miami - 6 total - 1 in 1st Round

OL
Clemson - 2 total - 3rd Round is highest
Miami - 8 total - 1 in 1st Round

OL isn't our main problem. QB is by far our first problem on Offense, followed by WR.
those stats or cute..but if u think our oline functions as well as Clemson’s then you need to stop smoking reggie

I've posted this before, but I'll pointlessly post it again:

2018 - Halfway through the season, PFF's ACC OL rankings had Clemson #2 and Miami #3 - https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/college-offensive-line-ranks-acc-week-8

2009 - Jeff Stoutland was our OL coach. He's since gone on to win 2 NC's at Alabama and a Super Bowl at Philly as the OL coach.
We had 3 NFL OL starting on that team - Orlando Franklin (2nd Round), Jason Fox (4th Round), Brandon Washington (6th Round).

In those years, just like in every other year, people thought the OL was our biggest problem.

Our OL can perform the same as a NC team.
We can have one of the best OL coaches.
We can have multiple NFL talents on the OL.

None of those facts matter. People will just continue to blindly place way too much of the blame on the OL.

Wait..so the last 4 years you think our line has been consistent?..u bring up draft picks from 2010, 2012 etc..those teams were solid in the oline but we all know the issues at those teams had separate issues..I’m talking about overall play recently. 2015- present . On offense the issues starts up front. That leads to the inconsistency in the run game..which leads to the pass game being in 2nd and 3rd n longs..which leads to the ineptitude of the offense

Look - I agree with you that OL play is an issue for us. It's one of many issues. I'm giving you the reasons why I don't think it's our biggest issue.

You asked what to name a National Power where OL weren't their best players. I told you Clemson. And I showed how their good QB's get sacked half as much as their bad QB's - which you dismissed. Why?

You asked if I thought Miami's OL functioned as well as Clemson's - I showed you PFF had them rated the same in 2018 when our offense sucked and Clemson won the NC - which you ignored. Why?

Now you're asking if I think Miami's OL has been consistent since 2015? Well that a totally different question, but of course it hasn't. Do you think any Position group other than TE has been consistent since 2015?

But taking from 2015 - what I'll tell you is:

- Kaaya & Williams complete 62% of their passes. Rosier & Perry complete 54%. That's because Kaaya & Williams are better QB's - not because the OL is giving them more time by blocking better.

- Homer & Dallas averaged 6.0 as our starting RB's. Walton averaged 5.3 and Yearby 4.9. That's because Homer & Dallas are better RB's - not because our blocking was any better.

- Ahmon Richards had 439 yds receiving in 2017 in 7 games, while KJ Osborn has 491 yds in 12 games in 2019. That's because Richards is a much better WR - not because the QB was better, or the OL was giving the QB more time.

Yes I understand our OC/DC could be better with play calling but name me more than two players on our starting offense and defense that could start on bama or Ohio state? Me personally after Greg R their is no one else. These kids gotta make plays.
I really miss duke johnson , ahmom richards , denzel perryman, some of the better canes in the last 10 years

I’ve been watching elite athletes in both championship games today. Although we have had a offensive coordinator that didn’t get it done. I still see ELIETE FOUR/FIVE STAR ATHLETES MAKING PLAYS! the only play to me who has consistently made plays On offense was DJ Dallas. Eitteine Lawrence fields JK dobbins cee Dee lamb hurts burrows Jefferson etc.. none of our players dominate on offense like this game in game out. You can feel their presence in a game.

After watching these 4teams today it’s very apparent not only are we not even close in talent to any of them we look like a HS team in comparison size wise.
Not sure why it is but we always look a lot smaller across the board size wise.

The speed on defense was apparent after the first play of each teams defensive series.
Osu with okuda and wade and the linebackers was night and day compared to what we have.
5 stars matter way more than people think.
Talent development is way overrated when these schools change position coaches all the time but still put higher draft picks in the league year after year. The only thing that stays constant is getting 4.3 db’s and 4.6 linebackers. Elite level athletes everywhere.
IDGAF WHO WE HAVE COACHING OR DEVELOPING. UNTIL WE RECRUIT THISE TYPES. OF PLAYERS WE WILL BE ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN.

Our staff would have Clemson and Alabama looking like 2 stars

Yep. Put players in a position to succeed and presto, they ‘developed.’ Mostly it’s about coaching - scheme, game plan, play calling, leadership, culture.

Combine top talent with good coaching and *development* happens.

What we have are a bunch of weak minded individual's I say individual's because this is no team.. IDK what it is, but all this talk about family in this program is clearly the biggest lie there is. These dudes clearly quit a long time ago. This has been a problem with the team for a very long time. In the past it would be a loss to FSU and a losing streak would follow.
