Either needs to earn a starting role (and his NIL) or portal out and free up that $$ for someone else. Waste of funds otherwise. Not trying to be a prick (i know injury is not his fault) but its a business now.

Yet another example of why it (oftentimes) doesn't pay to pony up large NIL deals for 17/18 year old high school kids. I'm curious to see what the data looks like after we have a 5 year sample size.
I think when it comes to OL and NT/DT, you got a chance to sign a 5 star out of high school, you do it. Especially if they have the size and athletic traits that don’t come available too often.

Agree on the large NIL deals for most every other position.

Question for @Rellyrell , does he count as a hit or miss if he transfers out and plays well at another P4 school? Because he'd stay at Miami in the pre-portal era.

If you want them on the first half of their college career, I agree. I don't see too many freshmen and sophomore linemen making big impacts, hence my comments. Although I completely agree with what you're saying. I guess you beter be right if you're gonna pay a kid that kind of money.
