Over/under: 7 Wins

We will have a better qb this year, better OL, better TE play, comparable to better running game (more options, hopefully better health), and hopefully solid WRs (the wild card). Our ST should be better/solid also.

On D, i think we'll be no worse. And we weren't awful law year, actually. Cb should be improved. lb will be a function of buchanon and whoever else steps up. Denzel will be improved. Spence is gone. Chick is back. I think green and whoever else will be o,ay at the other end spot. Porter if healthy is an improvement. Sith, who knows. Our dl wasnt good last year. Dont think it should be much worse this year,

Coaching: consistency, second year in program are positives.

Youth is a negative, but talent and attitude and conditioning and strength are pluses.

Last year's team was better than 6-6. All close games. Turmoil, suspensions, key injuries etc.

I think 6 or fewer would be disappointing this year. 6 is the bottom end of what i can see happening. 7-8 seems fair, 9 possible. 5 would tell me we dont have the rit staff at all, and i'll wonder if we turn in 6.

my feeling about team.

I expect this team to have a better record than Randy did his second season. I'm expecting an 8 win season. I think that we aren't going to be going through a two quarterback system like in 2008, so the offense will get in a grove. I think that the team will play better as well.

I'd like to see DMoney's prediction...

8-4.

Surprising. I don't think we can stop anyone, and I'm not sold on Morris. 8 is a stretch.

I'm an optimist. But I think this is easily the most talented offensive team in the ACC (as will be proven in the NFL draft), and the whole team seems to be in a good place mentally. Look at all the stuff that was going on last year with the coaching change and the Shapiro scandal.

Transition is not an easy deal-- look at Saban's first year and the loss to Louisiana-Monroe. This team's personality is much more similar to Golden's, due in equal parts to recruiting, weeding out bad seeds and cultural development.

While the lack of talented big men on defense is a huge concern, I think D'Onofrio's crew will be improved in the secondary and in terms of overall tackling.

There's a fine line between 8-4 and 6-6. Not sure why 8 wins is such a stretch.

Yes we have A LOT of question marks but who doesn't on our schedule? FSU on paper is the best team and you're telling me we can't beat those guys on our field?

yep. KState fumbled like 5 times in that game last year. We recovered maybe 1 if any. If even one bounces differently the game could have ended differently. Usually the better team seems to get "luckier" but there were plenty of times where things could have been a lot different with 1 play here or there.

We lost **** near all of our top playmakers. This team will be very young and inexperienced with big question marks pretty much everywhere. Perryman is a stud and could be All-ACC this year and Chickillo is a good talent but outside of those two who are the impact guys? Hurns? Mike James? Vaughn Telemaque?

Fact is, we dont have much proven talent. Very good coaching by Golden and the staff if we can get 7 or more wins.

This.

8-4....maybe 9-3 and my opinion is based off the culture change GoldenAl has installed.

If UVA won 8 games last year I see no reason why we can't. Don't know their schedule but they had a chance to win the coastal if they beat VT.

My favorite analysis by our fans: "We were 6-6 last year, but we were in every game and should have won 2 or 3 of those. This year, we will better, the schedule is not any more difficult, so 8 wins at a minimum."

Yeah, let's ignore that we lost all starters on offense at the skill positions and two, maybe three, offensive linemen. All of them, except the QB, are NFL level players, and the QB easily had the best season of his career last year. On defense, even though we are talented, we are extremely young, and while everyone likes to think the defense played well last year because we kept teams from scoring on us, that ignores that we shortened the game by controlling the clock on offense. Yards per play on defense = 5.48 a year ago, which is right in the middle of the country. While most don't expect the defense to be any worse this season, we were extremely successful keeping teams out of the endzone a year ago. If we're getting gashed on an individual play basis anywhere near last season, I think it will be hard to replicate our redzone defense success.

Finally, my favorite bit of analysis: the Canes got better this year, so that should be 2 or 3 wins added onto 6-6. Other teams are allowed to get better, too, ya know. Especially when they return everybody and their brother like BC, KState, FSU, etc... all do.

BOLD, BOLD statement. We lost all our top producers on offense from last year. A 1k rusher in Miller as well as Streeter, Benjamin, Jacory (not that big a loss but still had a solid yr). Don't see how we can be the most talented offensive team in the ACC when there are teams returning much more talented and PROVEN players. See Clemson and FSU.

6 wins would be a huge disappointment.

7 wins would be tolerable.

8 wins makes people happy.

Above that is FAP time.

Got to agree. That is bold. Borderline retarded, which I hate to say cause I respect your opinion. But come on, we return no one at the skill positions and you yourself started a thread on the OL a few days ago, warning that they might not live up to lofty expectations, no?

Admittedly I do not know the rosters of the rest of the ACC top to bottom, but if we are the best offense in the conference then things are bad.

Under. Unless coach Ohno'frio is sidelined indefinitely, the defense will lose at least 3 games this year. I'm guessing 5 - 7/6 - 6 (the latter is more likely).
