Got myself a 98 speed true fresh qb to succeed Ward with 96 throw power and 87 accuracy. Dude is unreal . The athletes that play QB are overpowered
I’m in an online dynasty for $$$ that is only 3 star schools (don’t want to admit the one I picked) but I recruited an athlete 3 star gem scrambler 6’3, 96/95 speed/accel, 92 throw power and accuracy all in the 80’s I was shocked.

Absolutely.

It all just depends on your opponent, your personnel & what situation you're in.

In year 1, I mostly played Cover 3 & Cover 4 Quarters coverage because the Secondary was slow. But after year 1, I completely revamped the Secondary via Portal & brought in 4 new Corners & 3 Safeties, so I play mostly Man coverage looks now.

This frees up your ability to adjust on the fly & call more Blitzes because you don't need your LB's to drop in coverage.

In the 4-2-5 Defense, I play the majority of snaps in Nickel. Over & 3-3 Mint. I really only use Double Mug if I know it's gonna be run play. But you can customize & change your Defensive audibles in the Coaching setting, so if you call a play & it looks pre-snap like you're out of position or going to get caught in the wrong look, you can have a set of audibles you can go check into right away.

I pretty much shift the DLine & move the LB's on every snap. When I call a Blitz, I'm shifting the DL to the side that the Blitz is coming from & moving the LB in so he'll essentially get a free reign rush. The key is just to have fast LB's on the field so when they do Blitz they get there fast.

Assuming you play on PS5, to audible your DB's it's Triangle & then left or right trigger to either Press, give cushion or show different looks. In the Red Zone, I usually will Show 3, but send a Blitz from the weak side. So if it's a run play I'll have a LB in the backfield by the time the RB gets to the LOS, or if it's a PA it'll likely be a Sack. If it's a straight up pass, I'll call a Cover 4 palms look so I do get beat on a Corner route. If they have 3 WR's on the field, I'll audible the Rover Safety to a Deep Shell & adjust the Strong side Backer to an underneath Flat zone, this basically eliminates the Slant.

On Defense, I strictly play at CB, usually Field side, but sometimes I'll switch to Nickel or Boundary. But pre-snap, I'm always adjusting the DLine & the LB's to create pressure upfront. I call the Defense already knowing what I want the DB's to do based on the down & the situation. So for instance, if it's 2nd down & 7, I already know they're not going to run the ball again (unless you're playing a run heavy team), so Im going Nickel & I'm calling Cover 2 Man coverage, that way my Safeties will drop back to protect the Deep ball & because I trust the other 2 Corners & know they can cover in Man. I'll lock down the WR1.

I call the Defense from the Outside-In, not the Inside-Out. The key really, is just getting that initial stop on 1st down. If you can get it to 2nd & 3rd down & longs, it becomes much easier to win on Defense because the CPU only has so many options they're going to choose from. Knowing this, you call the Defense that protects you from getting beat Deep & make adjustments at the DLine to create pressure. Even if you don’t get a Sack, as long as you have the correct personnel in your Secondary to cover you can get stops easy.

Just don't ever call Tampa 2 unless you're in the Red Zone or goaline lol.
I did same **** with the dbs after year one. I was getting toasted year one but managed to barely win a natty. Now I’m on cruise control cause I revamped the secondary in the portal.

What playbooks is everyone using? I’ve tried to use a very different styles, Tennessee veer and shoot is cool with the wide splits (makes running incredibly easy). Baylor Air Raid I liked, lots of RPOs to the perimeter which if you have a fast slot WR is dangerous.
The UNLV playbook is my go-to right now.

I’ve also tried Ole Miss and Texas Tech

On AA? Im still on varsity for at least a season but I just beat VT 31-28. I swear every time I had them at 3rd and long some fluke play would happen. Their final TD was a post our safety nearly picked it then both corner and other safety wiffed on tackles and he housed it 60 yards. So annoying. I’m playing 5 min quarter but I still only beat USF 28-14, their up tempo was gashing me. I feel confident on offense but need to work badly on D
Haha I'm afflicted with the need to play on heisman. I finally figured it out though. By Armondo Blount's senior year that man doesn't give up anything up the middle. Him and Cam Pruitt end up being absurd.

After my first season with Canes in gunna bump to AA. I am in a couple of online dynasties that are on AA and it’s not as daunting as I originally imagined.

As a DC, I love this defensive playbook. They've installed a lot of modern defensive concepts like the Mint Front, Cover-3 Match, Double Mug, etc. I'm having a blast using the 'multiple' defensive playbook, bringing pressure from different places, etc. Mint Front has been good for me. Bain isolated with a Guard is easy work. 🔥
I'm sure there's a lot more you can do, but I'm still learning.

When are they updating these rosters though man? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Also...
Can you use certain RB's as your "3rd down back" via the depth chart?

Bain is unblockable inside. And you can set your 3rd down back on the depth chart. You can set a short yardage back and Slot wr too. And you can set your d-line, LB, and nickel for your nickel defense on the depth chart

And from what I seen the roster will get updated close to kickoff of the regular season. They already went in and deleted some of the created players they had on the roster

This will not be popular but knowing what I know now................You start Chris Johnson year one, he's too explosive to sit

I'm using Michigan's playbook. Lots of variety and they even have some formations with the qb under center.

Ok I'm gonna try that tonight. Thanks.

Once Baron gets put on the roster....I'm definitely sliding Bain to DT for online play purposes. The issue is right now we don't have another quality DE to put in Bain's place.

Mesidor's default rating is too low. He's a better player than what he's currently rated at. I get making him injury prone....but he's been too productive when on the field to be in the 70's, ratings wise.

We also still need Porter and Damari Brown to be added to the game...then the secondary will be adequate. Right now I'm scared to ever press due to how easily these scrubs get beat deep. Move Hill to your slot CB, he's too **** slow to play on the outside.

I mentioned this in an earlier post, but you guys should all be sliding Rivers to center and putting Bell at LT. My O-line play has been great since I made that change.
