And, as ready as I was for Manny to go, this does beg the question - if Manny had the AD and the resources that Mario has had, would the record be worse than 5-7, 7-5 and (with a generational QB against our weakest schedule in at least 10 years) 10-3...?

Not a pro-Manny statement or wanting him back, but it's a fair statement regarding improving our program.

No... Manny was the final catalyst for things changing... If Manny had stayed the financial upswing doesn't happen....or at least not as heavy as it did...

I will write a post season breakdown today or tomorrow, but I have only one thought about this program and our HC.

I’ve given Mario the benefit of the doubt for three years. I’ve criticized him when deserved and credited him where it was due. I also think I’m one of the more reasonable posters on this board.

Here is my one thought: Mario will NEVER get us to where we need to be. Will we win 9-10 games a year? Sure. Will we compete for the ACC? Occasionally. Will we go to the CFP? One in every blue moon. Will we win a Natty? With Mario, never.

Might be right, but we’re screwed if Mario isn’t the answer. Better pray real hard that he is.

Yeah man. And others had tougher schedules. We didn’t make it to the ACCCG or the CFB Playoffs with this schedule, Cam Ward and the number 1 offense in the country…. After rolling into November at 9-0. The loss to GT and the 21-0 collapse at Syracuse are now engrained in the annals of the Canes disastrous post Orange Bowl history. After What I saw against Iowa State, I don’t know how Emory was on ready to go in case of an injury to Cam status this season but it’s frightening. They recruited that and put themselves in a position where they may have needed to go to him and they knew what they had. And you know they knew what they had because the play calling in the bowl game was virtually all runs once he came in.

On top of it, NIL has clipped Mario’s animalistic recruiting workhorse advantage - along with being in the ACC - we finished like what, 14, 15??? He needs top 5 classes to have any shot at a -2 team playoff.

The worst part is that he’s here for more years still than has passed on his contract. There’s no way he’s getting bought out of millions by the dozen. We. Are. Stuck.

Well If they get a top 30 QB nationally, then they revamp the secondary, then add an impact linebacker then hired a DC and let him bring in his own guys. They could win 8 to 10 games. If not we are FSU this season.
