SMU is a good example. Yeah weaker schedule. Yet the ran the table in the ACC, with only regular season loss to a BYU team that is about to finish 11-2. Beat the teams you are supposed to beat. That’s not some crazy expectation.

As for recruiting- ACC is going to be at a deficit. For a coach like Lashlee, not a big deal, because he can get the most out of what he gets. Getting a class ranked in the mid teens is enough to be competitive for a playoff spot. Cristobal , on the other hand, needs top 10 classes to finish 3rd in the ACC.

smu had a Mac schedule. they had the second worst p4 schedule. Indiana was ran off the field by OSU. Tennessee best win was bama and they needed refs to beat UF. got destroyed by osu.

If we had the 2nd worst schedule, we still inexplicably lose 2 regular season games because that is how Cristobal rolls.

Here is my one thought: Mario will NEVER get us to where we need to be. Will we win 9-10 games a year? Sure. Will we compete for the ACC? Occasionally. Will we go to the CFP? One in every blue moon. Will we win a Natty? With Mario, never.

Many people said this before he was hired. People overlooked his glaring flaws for numerous reasons. It is what it is. NIL has neutered his only strength and anyone with a lick of foresight could have predicted this

Imagine watching all season and then this game being the final straw when Cam Ward didn't play the second half lol.
 
Mario is a loser. Can’t coach, can’t manage, and his evals leave a lot to be desired. Hes a glorified oline coach. Unless we bring in a real GM and a dc with hc experience the program’s future looks bleak.

Winning 9 to 10 a year is a stretch. I bet if he stayed 10 years, he wouldn't break 90 wins.

Incorrect. There is a bunch of argument to that statement. Randy Shannon and Larry Coker were jokes, so was Al Golden.

FWIW, the schedule wasn’t THAT weak this season. Out of conference schedule is obviously harder next season and there are some tough road matchups. But we play fewer .500 or better ACC teams than we did this season.

He was a Restrepo fumble away from the ACC title game this year. Find a QB, fire Guidry, continue to improve the defense and we will be an ACC favorite again next season.

They had a fraction of the support and resources and their records are the same or better. We overpaid and over committed. For me, that solidifies that Mario is by far the leader of a really ****** pack of coaches.
 
yall told me the culture was amazing bc everyone plays in a meaningless game. I told you the culture in the defensive room was bad. y'all said it was just the coaches that hated each other.
