Only One Possible Conclusion

I will write a post season breakdown today or tomorrow, but I have only one thought about this program and our HC.

I’ve given Mario the benefit of the doubt for three years. I’ve criticized him when deserved and credited him where it was due. I also think I’m one of the more reasonable posters on this board.

Here is my one thought: Mario will NEVER get us to where we need to be. Will we win 9-10 games a year? Sure. Will we compete for the ACC? Occasionally. Will we go to the CFP? One in every blue moon. Will we win a Natty? With Mario, never.

1.He needs elite DC.
2. Above average OC
3. Above average QB.

In that order.

If doesn't have that we are in trouble. He will always keep a great Oline and stable of RBs. What scares me is, I don't think he have ever had an elite defense at any of his stops. To be objective, defense lost this season. He needs to fire guidry ASAP.

He won't win us a National Championship now the SEC and BIG10 are hoovering up all of the High School talent.

And, as ready as I was for Manny to go, this does beg the question - if Manny had the AD and the resources that Mario has had, would the record be worse than 5-7, 7-5 and (with a generational QB against our weakest schedule in at least 10 years) 10-3...?

Not a pro-Manny statement or wanting him back, but it's a fair statement regarding improving our program.
