I agree with those that have said something similar to- yes, I realize we could lose this game, but I'll be disappointed if we do.
First, NCState has lost their ACC opener (all road games) in 4 of the last 5 years. They also suck on the road under Tom O'Brien, going something like 8-19. That alone will make it difficult to not be disappointed.
Second, Tennessee absolutely demolished them in the season opener. Their head coach is on the hot seat, so us losing to this team and not being disappointed about it would somewhat say something.
Third, Miami has only started ACC play 3-0 once (in 2004) since joining the ACC. Every single freaking year we get to a point where we need a win and some help. Now, we have the chance to go 3-0 in SEPTEMBER of all things, and all we have to do is beat a team considered by most to be a middle of the road ACC team. I'm not saying we're the best or anything like that- just beating average teams at home is what we need to do.
Fourth, I think this game is more important than any other game left on the schedule. Essentially, we're competing against VT for the division. We have the same division opponents (duh), but against the Atlantic, we both face FSU and Boston College this year. The only difference is this game. Miami plays at home against NC State, while VT must face Clemson on the road. It's not too much of a stretch to expect Miami and VT to replicate each other's performance against Duke, Virginia, BC and FSU. But winning this game would essentially give us a cushion that VT likely will not have
