OC Discussion Thread

Mangino and Jagodzinski are notorious ********. Ignore their records and listen to the people and coaches around them, there is a reason why Jags can't stay in a position. He is a straight up ****head. I really like the idea of the Falcons QB coach because it's what we need, a young guy hungry to establish his name. Al let Jedd do as he pleased and if he gets a solid recommendation from his coaching connections, you have to believe he wants more of the same. Offensive innovation is the team's key to success over the next two years while the D grows up. Tedford would be great but I don't see him leaving West Coast.

Al will bring someone in that fits his philosophy and Al will be calling the shots from a distance. He will set the parameters for the offense just like he did this year with Fisch.

He needs to hire a great "teacher", with attention to detail. I believe he will.

I know Al isn't Saban, but look at his offenses at Bama and keep in mind Saban is a defensive minded coach. They hired a new O-Coord. this year from outside the system, however, the offensive philosphy didn't change.

Point being......good coaches actually have an offensive and defensive philosophy and they stick with it. It's not like he's just going to "turn over the offensive side of the ball" to the next OC ala Randy Shannon. Golden will keep the ship in the right direction.

FsuWho said Jeff Jagodzinski. Not a bad name.

I hope he learned how to be an OC because when the Buc hired him to be their OC after BC canned him for interviewing with the Jets, the Bucs fired him in the preseason because he couldn't get the plays in quickly enough. That's the only OC I've ever seen fired before he even corched a game.

Fat man wants to get back into coaching. Already lives in Florida. He was very good OC at OU and won an Orange Bowl at KU where he called plays as head coach. Runs multiple set offenses and puts ball in playmakers hands. Health only concern plus he is kind of a ****! That being said, I would love to have him as OC.

That would actually be a home run hire. That dude can flat out motherfugging CORCH!

No way to Jeff Jagodzinski. There's a reason he can't even get an OC job anywhere.

I'd love to bring in McNulty finally. Al will hire a legit OC though. He's clearly very competent when it comes to hiring a staff.

The reason is because he's damaged goods. He's the only fugging guy I've ever seen fired in the preseason without ever getting to the regular season.

FSUWHO **** the bed on that call.

I said as soon as this news broke that it wouldn't surprise me to see Dana Bible step in seamlessly.

Telford or Steve Logan (look up the QBs he developed)

Btw it's Jeremy Bates not Jim Bates

Bob Stitt would be here for two years and he'd be off head coaching somewhere in D1...give the man a call.

Yes. This isn't Shannon where Al's coordinqtor hires will determine the outcome of his job. Our offense will look pretty similar just about every Iyear MO.

It's all good. Congrats to Fisch for getting an NFL job. At least he didn't leave for another college job. Al will find someone who is in-line with his offensive philosophy. I don't see anyone on the staff moving up, not even Cristobal. Tedford, even Mike Kruzek would be an option. Kruzek is in Orlando after having just taken the HC job at Trinity Prep.
