N'Kosi Perry Re-commits

I can't really see the logic behind the Perry criticism. Young man threw for 2500+ yds, 33 TDs, and only 3 int last season. He also has good pocket mobility. What's not to like? Those numbers are fantastic

Film don't lie. Also think Cade going to blow up this year

Perry's film or someone else?

I can't stand it when people say film doesn't lie. Break some of it down, cite examples of what you're trying to say. Saying film doesn't lie, it doesn't make anyone believe you have a valid point as we don't know if you even know what you're looking at.

And as far as the Heisman, he wasn't even the best player on his team. There was this guy Percy Harvin.....Tebow would throw a 5 yard pass and Harvin would break a 60 or 70 yard touchdown on his talent and speed. He was the best player in the county and it wasn't even close.
Lol Harvin was a beast but Tebow was defintely more important to his team. Come on now

Unless you have access to full game film or see these kids live the highlights wont show you everything (its not designed to)

Agree about Weldon, I expect a big season out of him. I am much higher on him than Perry.

But the Heisman is supposed to go to the best player, not the most important player to his team.....that award has a way of finding its way to a player that was NOT the best in the country on a given year.

I think you need to go back and look at what Tebow actually did at Florida...

I agree Tebow was more important than that. But op has a point. They also had Jeff Demps and Aaron Hernandez running triple option with shovel passes. That is just sick when you have that personnel package and then setting up Percy with a screen or deep. Plus their defense was stacked. Tebow was vastly overrated and that team would have won that national championship with anyone at qb.

This is why Weldon is important. This kid ain't committed to ****.

Did you not read the article?....

Yeah it reads a lot like Tyler Byrd's. Or Latrell Williams'.

In the spirit of the usual "if he decommits he's ****" -- If Perry decommits again I don't have a lot of faith in the kid anyway. There is some merit to the notion that kids who play games during recruiting don't pan out. I feel like this is especially true at the QB position where you typically see kids make a decision and shut it down.

It's a legit bad look to decommit from the same school twice. Shows an insane level of immaturity. Worse than a last second flip. Hopefully Perry is just paying Larry Scott respect with the visit.

I don't know where you live, but I live in Jax. That's about as close to Gainsville as you can get without living there. The media coverage of UF is non stop here, so I probably got a closer look than most when he was there. **** he went to high school in Jax. Harvin was the guy the year he won it at qb. Did you not read my previous post about him being given the credit when Leak was the qb his freshman year? Wasn't his best attribute running the ball? Running the ball as a qb is not that impressive if you think about it. The defense loses the numbers advantage no.1. And no.2 its easy to run for a bunch of yards when the defense is chasing receivers with their backs turned. And this is the best part. He wasn't even the best qb while he was at UF, lol. The story that most don't know is Cam was railroaded out of town because people close to the program knew he was better than Tebow. But to all that worship at the altar of Tebow, carry on.

Man, its a lost cause. smh....I'm done with it. lol

There were certainly several better players than tebow! History has proven that. Not even debatable. Harvin, Pouncy twins, Hernandez and Philly receiver, couple defenders as well. The only reason they sent Cam packing for that little incident, given Florida criminal record during that era, was they didn't didn't want to have to justify playing tebow over Cam. Now back to my CANES!

Lol those guys are better pro players than Tebow, not college players . Im not a Tebow worshipper by any means but he wasnt the first Sophomore to win the Heisman for no reason...but anyways like you said, back to our CANES

i dont recall anyone giving Tebow credit over Leak....i live in Ohio now but when Tebow was in college I lived in Orlando. Everyone knows Tebow was a better runner than passer. But he was still a good passer and broke passing records, i know a chunk of that was owed to Harvin but still. I have no idea how he regressed so much in his passing abilities when he got to the NFL but he did......and for those of you saying they wouldve won with any QB, you can say the same about us in 01 with Ken Dorsey. So did Dorsey not deserve his Heisman because he was surrounded by good players ?

Tebow didn't regress as a passer, he just didn't improve or adjust to the NFL. His game didn't translate well to the NFL like many other running QBs before him. The NFL is a whole different animal. Defenses are bigger, faster, stronger. Passing windows are smaller, less time to go through your reads. Tebow was the same guy he was in college and he was exposed in the pros. But say what you want though the guy had a lot of heart and came up with big plays when his team needed him more times than not. He just wasn't Peyton Manning so the Broncos moved on and no other team wanted to circus that came with having Tebow as their starting QB.

Here's the logic: people either think he isn't coming here and therefore are trying to discredit him early OR they are part of the "here at Miami we run a pro style and a pro style only" camp.

Either way, this kid is a major prospect and anyone that says otherwise is lying to themselves.

cant argue with that

Elite pocket awareness, which IMO is one of the hardest things to find. Most big time qb recruits that flop, do so due to having no pocket awareness (see Kyle Wright).

Perry is a straight playmaker who has mobility but is always looking to pass until the point he crosses the LOS

This is my favorite quality of this young man is his ability to hit the deep pass and when the pocket breaks down it would be easy for him to run for a first down, but he keeps his eyes downfield looking to stick a dagger in you with a long pass rather then run for the easy yards. Pro QB's have a problem keeping their eyes downfield for the big play, and this kid has the quality as a Junior QB. Very impressed with his ability to still look for the home run while on the run.
