I'm no expert but I've watched his games a few times.. He's already light years ahead of EMory in alot of ways. His mobility and willingness to run makes a HUGE difference. He's got a really nice arm, too.

He's had the playbook for a month already and his coach has said he is working with him on it. He seems very mature and I don't think he will waste an opportunity to take ahold of the job...

Facts. People are really underestimating the mental aspect of his game and being a willing & able runner is huge as he's learning, getting experience. The main question is how will he handle adversity and how he reacts to eventual mistakes which will happen. All great qb's have short memories. And of course Dawson needs to keep the playbook open for him cuz he can make throws in the intermediate space and deeper too, no reason to only call him bubble screens all game.

It’s pitiful man. We can’t get a stud QB to save our lives. And until Nickel proves otherwise I won’t hold my breath. Honestly if we don’t get a good portal QB, Toney might be the best QB on the roster next year. I am the last one to mope, but that’s straight facts.

Nah Luke is the real deal he played real competition in HS and balled every time

I'm sure this kid is great and all, but imagine he's penned the starter and he's facing ND in the opening game with that defense. Not many freshman ready for those type fo bullets, but what do i know.
 
Williams, I’ve seen enough-If Nickel beats him out I assume he hits the portal-

Nickel-unless he’s a freshman phenom-I don’t see him opening up against ND-

The unknown portal QB will probably be the guy whomever it is-

That leaves us with just 2 QB’s-

Gonna need another QB in case of injury.

how many of their current starters are coming back on defense? I don't recall if anyone has looked. I feel like I heard they have quite a few seniors/5th year guys but I may be confusing them with one of the other playoff teams.

Youth movements are usually for teams that are rebuilding. We've already rebuilt. You either have faith in Mario the recruiter or you don't.

Also, our success rate on one year rentals is pretty **** high.

That would be true if the TF QB can't throw.

Dawson hasn't called the games for Emory the way he has because he's a TF, he called the games that way because Emory stinks & has extremely bad throwing mechanics. He doesn't trust him because he has no reason to.

Dawson has no problem with putting the ball in the air when the QB shows he can actually make the throws.

Just go watch the TAMU & UNC games from 2023 with TVD, and watch any game from the 24 season.

The question is…If Dawson doesn't trust him then why was he (at least somewhat committed to him?). It was Mateer or bust…Don't get me wrong, I wasn't thrilled with this year's portal QB class at all…I don't want anything to do with the Dequan Finns, etc of the world as a starter. But there were kids better that are a **** of a lot better than what EW showed in that pop tarts bowl.

You're assuming he was committed to him, when his actions show a Coach that wanted nothing to do with him playing QB for this team but had no choice because that's what was given to him.

CiS folks are going to clamor for Luke Nickel to start over Emory, but the moment he has a bad game or two watch them turn on him and demand he hit the portal
