Nick Roberts

I like CB's that can play. Size should be secondary. I remember missing on some kids due to size during the Shannon era and it cost us. Players make plays. We need that desperately.

Go Canes!

Hes making plays in high school.....the coaches did there evals and they translated his skill at this level andthey said no. This isnt like hollaman who had like 11 picks n was local......what is it people dont understand that thestaff wants bigger fish.....bigger fish means better players n better players mean a winning program. This is that al golden **** n behavior where they dont have to recruitsomeone jartd cause they know they havehim lazy bs. Bring me studs give me the josh jobes of the world

Jobe 2018 guy. Not sure what he has to do with this class. We need CB's that can play in this class. Roberts can play, he's no clown. Mr. Quarterman knows what a football player looks like. He has experience in that department. I'll take his word for it.

Go Canes!

Thats the reason people hype him up cause of a players father...that fathers son is miami caliber this kid isnt because theres bigger fish to fry.

I'd rather have a roster full of 5'9" napoleon complex corners than 6'2" guys who have been here for several years getting beat out by 5'9" freshman "midgets".

BOOM!

That guy must not be watching our games with a post like that. Ryan Mayes? 6'1 and as of today is a JAG... Michael Jackson? 6'1 and cant even fight Malik Young off who is stealing his reps...who by the way is 5'9!!...Sheldrick Redwine? 6'1 and people are saying he needs to move to Safety....

Turns our that tall and good aren't mutually exclusive.

Yea but we knew those guys sucked whe they were recruits coming here..... Everyone with a clue knew they were buns sauce......guys like carlton Davis were the real deal while we were getting guys who should not be playing here.

I wasn't arguing that those guys were great, I was arguing that the goal is big AND talented. I get that we've missed some smaller guys while taking big guys who turned out average. Point is, if the staff is doing their job the big guys will turn out to have talent, whereas a little guy will never be big. Everyone is into metrics these days...guys have to have the measurables if they want to be taken seriously.

No lie, I think the focus on size is way overdone. I see the point in a big receiver, but give me the little guy who refuses to lose over the big guy without heart every time.

And while you're talking about disappointments, I'd just say that Sam Bruce.

I dont care how big someone is i like elite guys like joyner bandy those guysrsavages play fast as *** and take over games. Bandy is a better player hes our nickel db. Bruce was hyped for no reason i slept on him n knew richards was the baller of the three.....harley small but stupid fast u haveto sign him based on that

YouKnowWhat say he got that dog in him and he a take. He has watched him grind and knows him. That's all I need to know.

Coaches disagree so that's that.

I don't think you understand. UKnowWhat doesn't sign off on scholarships. The staff at this time doesn't like the kid. Give it up !!

They act like uknowwhat will speak bad of the kid and say he isntgood. He wont do that he knows the kid

Yep... Bandy and Young at 5' 9" is enough. We need taller corners as the majority of receivers in today's game seem to be 6' or taller.

This deal perhaps comes down to Bandy and Roberts and I'll take Bandy.

I think he is a take especially if we do not get Henderson back. He would have to be an upgrade over the guys who have been here that can't start over freshman Young. I guess there is little to no chance?

Hes 5'11..hes 185lbs..he ran a 4.5 at every camp he went too..he strong as **** for his size from all reports from Shap Pops...he has 6 interceptions this season and 3 returned for TDs...Again..if this kid played for Carol City, Booker T, St Thomas, or Miami Central and we didnt offer him this board would be calling for Mike Rumphs head. (notice I said MRumph..nobody blames anything on Richt on this board concerning DB recruiting for some reason)

He is 5'9 170. Already got bandy who is 5'9 and young will likelly start and is 5'9. You want a team full of 5'9 corners?

Roberts combines his lack of height with a lack of speed. That's a perfect recipe for UM to return to elite status in college football. Short corners who don't run that well are all the rage at the top 5 programs these days.

What a substantive response to what I believe are legitimate concerns...if you are going to be pro taking this kid you have to explain why. Personally, I don't put a lot of credence into the "he"s got heart and is smart" string of thought. It's important, but it only gets you so far.

I'd prefer we take a stop gap kid over him with the potential talent we should be getting in here next year, if everyone is so confident in getting some of the top guys next year, why would we take this kid? It's doubtful he would get significant time next year, so what's the point? To waste a scholarship for 4-5 years?

Problem on here is all these dudes are trying to suck up to UKnowWhat because he knows and likes Roberts.

UKnowWhat is a great guy, but if Roberts was so great with all the camps he's been to and being at a pretty high profile HS program he'd have a much better list of offers. There's something about him that is making all the marquee programs shy away even though they all know about him.

Like I said, it's not a science, so maybe he'll wind up a great player. I prefer to play the odds on stuff like this. And all the data says he's a C-USA player.

Where this lack of speed myth coming from? Timed a 4.54 at recent camp.....WTF are you talking about? Whats funny is his offers are just as good as more then half the players we have committed. Whatever you have to do to justify us taking his offer go ahead.. Mufuggas act like RIcht is this genius who doesnt makes mistakes with crooting... I personally think he is making a mistake... WE didnt even want Brian Edwards at corner we wanted him at safety who are these corners that we have that are so much better then him?

Franchise is a legend in his own mind.

How dare you insult the guy whose username sounds like a WWE heel.
