I think he is a take especially if we do not get Henderson back. He would have to be an upgrade over the guys who have been here that can't start over freshman Young. I guess there is little to no chance?
Hes 5'11..hes 185lbs..he ran a 4.5 at every camp he went too..he strong as **** for his size from all reports from Shap Pops...he has 6 interceptions this season and 3 returned for TDs...Again..if this kid played for Carol City, Booker T, St Thomas, or Miami Central and we didnt offer him this board would be calling for Mike Rumphs head. (notice I said MRumph..nobody blames anything on Richt on this board concerning DB recruiting for some reason)
But he doesn't. If he did what he does at one of those schools that might put him in a higher league. Is it possible that he's not quit 5' 11"? I was under the impression that he was more like 5' 9". Whatever the case, the staff doesn't want him (for now), maybe they know their business.
So now we are going back to the size argument? After we spent the last 3 years trying to move away from the fact that size doesnt matter if you can ball?
I will defer to Shaq pops regarding his actual height as I am sure he will jump in this thread soon as he is a big advocate of Roberts and his talent.
But hey, why would we need him...we are good to go at CB, right? Nothing to see here. Lets move on to the next position. Not like we are so depleted at CB that we might actually have Ryan Mayes as a starter next year. Esp if they move Redwine to Safety which they should.
It's hard to tell from a tape but he doesn't look 5'11". Corn is listed as 5'10" (not comparing him to Corn, just saying height isn't always everything). But to me he looks more fluid with his hips than some of the other guys we are targeting.
