Nick Roberts decommits

Nick Roberts reminds me of Antonio Crawford. He is a decent corner, one of the better ones during the Al Golden era. But we are done with those times we need to think bigger.

Kid will do great at UNC but give me Bandy and lets start ****ing rolling with this miami/Broward crew

I think this will be a bad move in the long run and right now I'd take Roberts over Bandy.

College coaches disagree with you. Bandy is a playmaker and roberts is not.

Oh, so basically we should just offer those who have the most offers.

In all seriousness, Nick is younger and already moves better than Bandy. I also tend to believe someone who has seen him first-hand for every game he's played in, saying QB's steer clear of him. That's as big a compliment as you can get, it means they respect your playmaking ability. Bandy is takes more chances, but it comes with more risk. I'm not knocking Bandy at all, my preference and what my eyes see says I'd take Nick.

Ugot bad eyes bruh

Roberts is a playmaker, don't be mistaken. Well be fine though.

Yea but when u translate the game and out him in college where its way faster than hs theres no way someone can projects nick over bandy.......bandy speed and hips alone can have him playingday one. Hes the type to bite on a route and make a mistake but has recover speed nick does not. U have one a playmaker and one just a good corner in hs and if he bites fsu wrs are running right by him.

I think the Roberts kid is a good one. He plays at a good school, played with a kid that tis pushing to start as a true freshman. I think this is one of those deals where the new staff is trying really hard, just as AG initially did, to make the local kids feel like they are the major priority. It will be interesting to see if we can start to close the deal with those kids.

I mean, this really reminds me of the beginning of the AG era honestly. New staff, targeting all the local teams. Remember the comments about RS not even going to certain schools, and how we thought AG was going to do a this and that etc? The key is where it always has been. Winning. This staff needs to have success or these front running local kids will jump ship just like they did with AG. And don't get all defensive and say these sofla kids are not front runners when they change high schools three times in four years to jump to better HS programs....

Win and the studs will come, don't win and you will wish a kid like Nick Roberts was still available. If he goes to VT or UNC we will not love playing him. It reeks of a Cash type situation. But here's to hoping that Richt, puts to bed our past transgressions. Recruits so well, that we don't care about the one or two we may miss on. I like where this staff is going, but this is a solid kid from a solid program. It is a loss. How big will only be told by time.....

I still dont't understand what you are worried about? If we don't win, and we are wishing that Nick Roberts was here, what difference does Nick Roberts make at that point? Roberts is the difference between what, winning 7 games and winning 8? He doesn't appear to be the kind of recruit that schools that want to win 10 and 11 games a year, recruit. So if we are at the point where we are wishing we had Nick Roberts, it's a failure anyway, and Richt should be fired, and somebody who will get us above the Nick Roberts type program should be brought in.

And he has spoken. Time to let Nick Roberts die. I am a fan and if we switched him out for a guy like Edwards or Wilson I am all for it. Brini I am still on the fence about. And I dont think Bandy is better then Roberts I think they are even. But hey, the coaches made their choice. Time to move on.

And to the guy that compared Bandy to LJoyner. Ahhhhhh..No. Joyner was a 5 star cant miss prospect that everyone knew was the goods. Joyner would be the "Jeudy" of this class. He would have spot regardless of who commits. Bandy aint that. We arent holding spot for him although I think he will end up in this class nonetheless.

A DB haul of Henderson, Bandy, Edwards, and Wilson or Brini and you cant get mad at that one bit. I take that all day.

And.... Miami has not done very well in situations such as this in the past 15 years. We let a guy go, and end up missing on the next. Lets be honest. If the Sec $ shows up for some of these dudes, then they are gone. Plain and simple. That is the real reason everyone feels the way they do about winning a recruiting battle against Bama. Its not a matter of who is the better recruiter, its $. Shall we look at the PLETHORA of guys in the last 5 years that have screen shots of cash after they commit somewhere? Most all at SEC schools. How many power teams are looking at Bandy? Oklahoma? Ohh yeah they have a top 5 D every year. Heck we beat them with Randy Shannon! That conference is not a great conference, especially for defense. I am not trying to go all chicken little, but even Richt said. You do not offer a guy unless you are willing to accept their commitment. They had Roberts on campus, and they could have told him then. But know they are trying to show special care to the kids from Sofla. And IMO its because they are new. Like I said AG did the same thing, but when these front runners burn you. You start to not show them so much preference. It will be interesting to see things like this in the future. But we know that winning will change everything.

Saying We are Miami, is more of a circe 2001 thing man. We need to get kids in here that want to work hard to be the best. And want to be Canes. We cannot compete at the same game the SEC plays. We will not win at it, or at least we have not been winning at it... Maybe Richt is better than I give him credit for. Time will tell
