Nick Roberts decommits

I remember when Rudolph was a 3 star receiver, some folks were on here saying "good, he's a lower tier player any way, bigger fish we're after." Then the season started and then Rudolph became a 5 star...those same folks were clamoring to get him back, blaming Golden for trying to force him to play defense here.

Roberts, from his in season hi lights, to the camps have shown he's a tremendous corner. UknowWhat said his numbers won't jump out b/c teams won't throw his way...and I saw why. There's a reason y other teams started courting him after his camp performance. I think he'll get his 4th star and then we'll hear ppl say, "What was Richt thinking!"

I hope we have a plan A in store.

Totally agree with you, Relly. I also remember the Rudolph fiasco. When he first committed and his junior tape was posted here, some people were saying he sucked and was nothing special. Then he recommitted and had a bump in stars, and all of a sudden he was a stud in these same poster's eyes.

I said it back then, and I'll say it again. Rudolph looked just as dangerous and athletic in his junior tape as he did in his senior tape. Only difference was the touches he got and the bump in stars.

Roberts situation is similar in my opinion. Some people never learn. Hope this isn't another one that comes back to bite us in the ***.

These aren't Al Golden classes anymore. Don't get too busted up over losing lower tier players. Richt is filling this '17 class with studs.

As of right now we have a class filled with 3stars and I'm not knocking Richt

So when he gets his 4th star, and he will. Then he's worthy?

That's not what I'm saying, I would have kept Nick, but right now are class is filled with 3 stars and that's what Golden classes looked like.

Most of the guys who have been "dropped" I understood. This one is a head scratcher right now. I know they haven't been high on him from the get go. But, I'll trust them

How is it a head scratcher? There is nothing special about roberts. You can find guys with his talent level all over the country.

Yeah he is better than his film in my opinion but he will be fine... Think he ends up at UNC or Tech

I like Nick as a player but you don't win NC's with guys like him starting in your secondary. Miami needs to start aiming higher.

I agree that Miami needs to start aiming higher, we need to win first to be able to do that, but Roberts doesn't look like an average or bad player like the projects we're used to seeing.

When looking at the players we are recruiting at db in the 2017 and 2018 class, it was obvious Roberts wasn't going to end up here.
