Bandy and others r better prospects......i hooe the kid does well but when i saw him committ to AG n saw the film i didnt trust it. I dont see a great db in him this is the U we should be having antrell rolles everywhere back there not brandon mcgees

You can say what you want but I dont want to have to see this kid for 4 years either. This kid has alot of Tony Carter in him. If you remember he was a feisty DB for FSU that gave us and everyone else fits for years. Even had a nice stint in the league. And I think he was from J-ville too.

I am not completely sold that Bandy is that much better then him. I havent seen any camp tape from Bandy that has blown me away yet. Roberts has held his own on the camp circuit as well. To me they are not far apart talent wise.

Good luck to the kid. Hope he ends up somewhere outside the ACC.

Agree with this ^^, And the fact that Nick Roberts is still 16 doing what he's doing leaves a lot of room for growth. They better land 2-3 blue chips to add onto Henderson.

This was all in the works before Bandy was even offered. Roberts appears to me to be a good looking prospect but Richt and staff feel like going in a different direction. I would rather the kid know this now and be able to land on his feet rather than being strung along till the end.
 
I am very sorry to hear of this news. I'm a big fan of Nick Roberts. Wish him the best wherever he lands.
 
I got killed months ago for saying we should move on. He's a decent prospect but we can, should and will do better.

I think Nick Roberts is a good player that's only going to get better, but the staff wasn't feeling him for some reason I'm glad they kept it real with him early in the process instead of stringing him along only to drop him in February.
 
I'm the classiest guy on here, so I hope he goes to a rival, wins 4 Heismans and beats us 4 times on walk-off pick sixes.
 
You're not going to win NCs battling UNC and VT for recruits. If he gets some legit offers from national powers who actually play some D, then I'll be more concerned. UM needs to start beating top teams for top playmakers at speed positions like CB. All I hear about Roberts is that he's a solid lunch pail type who won't make many plays.

2017 and 2018 are absolutely loaded with playmaking DBs. Get out of that Folden "play it safe" mode and go after the monsters.
 
Like the kid a lot but Canes will land others more talented to that position. If yall want us to "be back", we must go after and get the best possible at each position. Nick Roberts is solid and will be somewhere else. Go get em Coach Richt.

My USF Bulls would be a nice destination for the kid. I'll even have him over for the Best BBQ east of the Channel Islands.
 
Kid will do great at UNC but give me Bandy and lets start ******* rolling with this miami/Broward crew
 
I hope he does well where ever he goes. I liked him as a prospect but if we get elite talent then so be it. But this is the type of kid who goes to a UNC or Tech and kills us every time we play him. Like a Gio Bernard.

Regardless of people saying this is a mistake, or whether he blows up his senior year or not the fact is that Richt has a plan for recruiting and he's sticking to it.

They are looking for 6'0+ at CB, and if you want an offer and you are not 6'0 you better show them a reason to want you whether it be elite speed, elite ball skills, etc etc.

Roberts is a solid player and will be a solid player wherever he goes. But the fact is that he's not elite speed and doesn't fit what they are looking for in 2017. Also, probably doesn't help the fact that he's not from South Florida. Richt and co are making amends with coaches here and that is a key thing moving forward as a program. If a guy is close in talent to another, one is from Jacksonville, one is from Miami, he's going with the Miami kid. That's where this came down to imho.

Hate to lose a kid from that school. It is turning into pipeline from north FL. There is hard nose talent up there we need to add to our boys down here.
