Next year could be ugly

Looks exactly like a thread that was created a year ago. Same bull**** being said.

****...if we had a defense with a pulse we could've finished with only one loss this year. No excuse for letting VT and Duke blow us out.

"We're gonna have so many weapons next season that we'll outscore everybody."

Same exact bull**** we said last year.

Depends on recruiting

How so?

You're counting on freshmen to pull us out of this ditch?

Whom ever starts at QB next season will be an upgrade. Morris made no progression at all in his entire time here. One read, having nightmare of blitzers getting his *** at the supermarket.

RB will be even better with the addition of Yearby. Crawford better get ready for that lunch money of his to be nabbed. If Duke isn't 100 when the season starts. I don't see Crawford holding off a talent like Yearby, because unlike the cats behind him at the moment. This dude will not look like a clown when called onto the field.

WR will only get better. Coley a year older/Dorsett back/ Hopefully a more mature Waters along with all the talent coming in.

TE is a major improvement with Cleveland gone.

OL wasn't that impressive this season. So it can't get any worse next year imo. **** i looked around the league and seen teams with new blood on the line play 10 times better than our over hyped unit.

Defense

I can't say anything if Ono stays, until i see it.

The big loss will come from O'Donnell leaving for the league. **** that dude was a monster punter, and **** good in making tackles in the return game.

You think they weren't that impressive but you might change your mind if you look at the stats. They were a very good unit.

And you think they can't get any worse until next year comes around and you see the difference.

The O-line is ALWAYS under-appreciated, regardless of how well they do. We have selective memory when it comes to O-line evaluations.

Morris is average at best but please stop acting like Kaaya, Olsen, or Williams is a lock to come in next year and throw 21 tds, and 12 INTs like Morris has this year.

LOL

You should slit your wrist if you think none of these 3 can command this offense better than Morris. Whomever wins the job next season. Just has to play within their limit range, and let the Coley's, and Dukes of this team do the rest. That is something Morris couldn't do. This fan base is so depleted in so many ways. What Morris did this season. Was nothing special that any of our current QB can't surpass.

Watch next season. As the The QB completion % has a major boost, along with 3rd down %, and red zone conversion rate. Less chunk yards in the way of the hail mary miracle , and more sustained drives that equals a better offense than years past.

Pardon me for not annointing QBs who have never or hardly played here given our recent history at the QB position. People were saying the same things about Wright, Freeman, Marve, Jacory, and Stephen before they became starters

Do you see us getting better?

LOL the Golden slurpers have their excuse already made for next year....

"uh uh it's not Al Goldens fault we suck in the ACC again.... the reason is all of the upperclassmen talent, that we've been trashing, is going to be gone and thats why we wont be good, even though we've been saying that they are the reason Miami isnt good this year"

SMH you guys are pathetic.....

There will be enough talent on this team to be better and if Golden cant get this team to the ACCCG next year he should be fired immediately.

And who knows how Wright would have turned into if he hadn't had Werner, Olson, and Nix as OC. Just like Marve, and Harris. Those guys had horrible teachers around them, along with terrible leaders. 2 of those guys were Mr Florida coming out of HS, and Wright was highly sought after. Only at Miami do big names like those go and disappear.

Williams since being here has worked with 2 top OC. Olsen will be going into his second season with Coley, along with Williams.

Morris just wasn't what everyone made him out to be. He just mentally couldn't grasp more than one thing at a time. Gifted with a great arm, but not much upstairs.

I just have to feel at some point, we have to come across a great game manager at QB. I think with what we have now, and the addition of Kaaya. We can finally be proud of who is leading our offense. One of those dudes isn't a big name, but i think if he gets a shot. He will make the best of it.

If we finish in the top 100 next year on defense based on what we have coming back and who we have calling it, I'd be very shocked. The defense alone is good for 4 losses so that who 9 win thing is out the window. 7/8 wins is our top out next year as of right now. The bottom is 5 wins if the wheels fall off. I'm willing Vegas puts our wins at 8.5.

Can golden survive a 4 loss season next year

I would like to add that how have people seen enough of Williams to know he is not the guy.

I categorically disagree.

we win the bowl game top 5 recruiting top 20 in ap to start the season.

we are in great shape.

First of all that's quite an if on the bowl game.

Second I love this class but you can never count on multiple impact freshmen. Except for Coley even guys like Burns, Muhammed made minor impacts on the team.

Plus, the biggest weaknesses. Interior D linemen take time to develop. This class also doesn't fully address our weakness at LB.

While it's true that interior d-lineman take time to develop and the class doesn't fully address weakness at LB, both of those were areas of severe weakness anyway. We have some young d-lineman with a bit of experience now, and we don't lose anything at LB that would make us worse than this season, unless Perryman leaves. So I don't see where the downgrade would come in.

Im concerned about our depth at D tackle and linebacker. Aside from that, we will have our strongest roster in many years.

You don't think the O line will take a step back?

You think our starting DT's will be a significant upgrade? What about our Lbs with the loss of Perryman.

I think we have young talent but our roster is also overloaded in certain areas and weak in others.

For all the strength we have at WR & DB

We lack depth at RB, DL & LB

We lack stud playmakers at interior D line and LB.

Finally, we will be breaking in a new QB. We can't expect a Rapeis Winston like freshman performance.

I don't see our O-line taking a step back. We'll have Flowers with a year of experience, and Isadora, plus McDermott can come in and get some burn as a freshman.

Our starting DT's won't be a significant upgrade, but I don't see a downgrade either, plus we'll have Muhammed, and McCord with another year's experience and strength training at DE. Chick will still be here and can move anywhere on the D-line, and Kamalu will also have some more experience and can move around the line as well. Hamilton may, possibly, finally, be injury free and contribute, which would just be an added depth bonus.

We may not have great depth at RB, but we'll have Duke, Yearby, and Gus, at the least, and there is still the possibility of another good back signing with us. Not ideal depth, but actually BETTER than this year.

QB - Williams
RB - Duke
FB - Tucker
OT - Flowers
OG - Bunche/Gall
C - McDermott
OG - Isidora
OT - Feliciano
TE - Walford/Sandland
WR - Dorsett
WR - Coley
WR - Waters

DE/OLB - Muhammed
DT - Pierre
NT - Wyche
DE - Chickillo
OLB - McCord
MLB - Kirby (Perryman if he stays)
OLB - Figueroa
CB - Gunter
CB - Howard
S - Bush
S - Jenkins

the offense has a chance to be much better. weapons everywhere. solid to good oline. at least depth behind duke w/ Crawford, Edwards and yearby. we aren't counting on freshmen, but, they can and will need to provide depth.
I wasn't sold on Williams before the season, but, I think in this offense next year, we are that good at rb, te, and wr that if he can get the ball to the playmakers, he can manage games and we can win with him. if olsen is better, great. I think Williams goes to the te more, which morris didn't do much of.

defense might be much of the same. secondary should be talented. if perryman stays, and I don't think he will, I think figs and grace and Kirby and an incoming freshman could be better than what we had. our ends should be better if McCord and quan progress and take on a bigger role. we just need to find guys inside, imo. which is huge. if the juco transfers can help out pierre and maybe a valentine, we could be ok.

but, offense has a chance to be elite. playmakers everywhere and some depth.

Is this a real statement? Wow.

So apparently Miami is the only place in the country where QBs become busts

Morris was a good Miami hurricane but I agree...we never really knew his ceiling as a QB...he never managed a great game, he struggled against bad teams, played great at times against great teams then would disappear for 2 or 3 qtrs and look like Luck or Montana marching us down the field....

I wish him well, the NFL is within his grasp with harder work and some luck......

guess he didn't see what happened to driskel, brantley, and brissett at uf.

I can't speak on Olsen or Brad, but Williams is better suited for Coleys O. He gets the ball out of his hands quickly to his playmakers and when teams step up to cover those he can hit his guys down field. He doesn't have the strongest of arms but he can read a field and knows where to put the ball.

I agree. I think Williams will be good for us. My only questions are... Are the rumbling true about possibly bringing in Jacob Coker?! Does Coley decide to go with his guy in Kaaya over Olsen? The QB race is going to be really interesting over the spring.

Brissett never got a fair shot at uf that's why he transfered
