Next Season - Agree?

As things currently stand, we need our young guys in the front 7 to take a massive step forward to be more than an average defense.

Next year is a big year for Dawson. He exceeded my expectations this season, but he had Ward. Let's see how he does with a less mobile guy. If he puts together another top 10 offense, he's probably a HC somewhere in 2026.
I keep reading about development and people taking the next step to fill in.

Our defense was so bad last year that they should already have been able to step in if they brought value to the table. That or the coaches were that bad.

Problem with the portal is development doesn’t matter.

Our best WR, best QB in PROGRAM history gone

Harder SCHEDULE

and we get better? That’s ridiculous
Yeah I look at the schedule and until we learn more about QB (hurt) and other positions I only see 3 for sure W’s

BC
USF
Stanford
Maybe outdoor Syracuse

We had the best QB in the country and survived VaTech at home. Too many questions right now.

FSU has a QB that can cause issues even against good defenses which at the moment “hello” and it’s a rivalry…NC State always upsets somebody. We always struggle with Pitt it seems…

SMU loaded with NIL money and ND at the moment is simply a deeper team.

We will win more than 4 I just don’t know how many more

I got 6 wins on here and the rest are toss ups IMO

BCU
USF
FSU
NC STATE
STANFORD
CUSE (Kyle McCord entering draft they will see a decline)
Pretty fair. VT & Pitt are always unpredictable yearly. SMU lost a lot of leadership + production but that will be a challenge & the remaining 3 are the toughest games. Gotta take 2/3 from the first group I mentioned and at least 1 of the toughest three games.

ND and UF in preseason
buit no GTECH in season is big for us, they have our number
SU and UL at Home
at SMU is big game on road
No such thing as preseason...preseason implies the games don't count, and UF and ND definitely count. They are non-conference games...

If you’re making straight up win/loss predictions now, you’re assuming A LOT of things. Common sense dictates that the offense will probably not be the best in the nation again and the improvements in the portal along with a new defensive staff should improve the defense but to what extent is just a guess.

You can try to make predictions based solely on the current roster but even that isn’t a finished product yet. There’s likely going to be additions in the spring.
Too early to know but as of now...

DB - A
High confidence this group of DBs is essentially proven talent that will perform like it and not be confused in the scheme:

LB - C+
Medium confidence they will be average or better, + for Bissainthe and the recruiting pedigree of the unknowns

DL - B
High confidence Bain & Mesidor will be above average on the DL if healthy, other guys will have to prove themselves. Moten isn't a gamebreaker but he can play. Want Justin Scott to be that dude. If I had to guess at least one of Lightfoot/Pickett/McConathy is gonna be above average this year but unproven.

OL - B+
High confidence the OL is gonna be above average and capable of running the ball

TE - B
Big Lofton fan, want another guy to pop off

WR - unknown
Need another transfer here and/or a breakout

RB - B
It's not a Judkins and Henderson room but I don't think that is necessary to have a top 15 offense

QB - B- to A
Floor of too many INTs and inconsistency, ceiling of Heisman contender and 1st round draft pick

Not a dominant vintage Canes rooster but good enough to win the ACC

What a dope. Already predicting Ws and Ls "as constructed". We are halfway through the build (most of the true freshmen will not play), and we got several significant contributors in last year's spring portal.

But, yeah, he's a "hater"...
So nobody can say a peep until go time? They guy said as constructed ‘right now’.

Can we have a safe space forum where only rainbows and unicorns can pet your forehead?

I dont know. Hope for the best, expect the worst. Don't turn the ball over, don't target, don't taunt.
Stay onside. Wrap up your tackles, stay injury free.
Set a goddang edge, keep contain. Be better at x and o's than the other coaches. Catch a break from the refs, and do that 13-15 times and we can win a championship
