New Raising Canes

Except that law school is not an undergraduate program.

Ummm... He's pre-law, will have automatically gotten into their Law school having taken all the prep classes.

Do you actually think any graduate can apply to their Law school & just get right in?

A "pre-law" track does nothing to get you ready for law school nor increases your chances of getting into law school. Pre-law usually consists of a bunch of philosophy, English, and poli. sci. classes, all of which have little to do with anything you do in law school. Implying that a pre-law track will automatically lead to his admission to Stanford's law school is 100% false and signals that you are absolutely clueless.

And no **** not just anyone can apply and get in (although law school admissions are hardly rigorous). Your LSAT and GPA get you into law school, whether it's at a T14 or a **** school, not "pre-law" tracks. He could go to Wyoming and his chances of getting into Stanford's law school is the same as if he would have went to Stanford.

Thus, the excuse of flipping to Stanford because he wants to go to law school there is complete horse ****. Just stop with the bull**** excuses and blatantly making things up (like this pre-law nonsense). I am a second year law student at Miami, so I would think I have a pretty good grip on this topic.

Powell left bc our admissions wouldn't clear him. That's not on AG. Gibbons went to Stanford to be a lawyer. Not even mad. Valentine wasn't taking a 2nd foreign language. That ship sailed many months ago. We pushed out Bethel & Turner. Lol @ acting like we lost them.

Correct. Maybe they will give him an "ADVANTAGE" if he applies there coming from there (i.e. like preferring your own). Maybe if he redshirts and takes his classes ontime, he will be allowed (if he can handle it) to get his first year of law school covered at Stanford (during his 5th year).

What a great video great to see the players faces when they found out the news its great to be!!!!! Finally we have the handcuffs off with a great coach like golden the sky is the limit.... To stay during all that bs that the worst coach in the history of the program shannon ran us into is a testament to how great of a person and coach golden is !!!! Handcuffs off full speed ahead

To your first point, upper-level law schools (T14) generally do not prefer to take their own. Second point could be a possibility.

Yes but this is an outlier. A kid with a unique background. Scholarship athlete attending Stanford, I am sure he is not the normal kid that they would give an advantage to in choosing their own.

I love the "T14" BS as well. Only in law do we have a "T14." There is no other field where they have a top 14.

That's a valid point and perhaps that is the case. Definitely more likely than the "pre-law" argument made by another poster.

And yeah, the whole T14 thing/ranking system is funny. Law school admissions need to be revamped for a multitude of reasons, but that is another topic lol.

Pre-Law is nothing because there is no requirement for a certain major to go to law school. It is not like Pre-Med and taking the necessary course to enter Medical School.

Agreed on the T14 too.

I wish law school was more like med school in its admissions and pedagogical methods. Too many kids applying to law school because it is so easy and they don't know what to do with their lives. And too many law schools that teach nothing practical, with professors who have never sniffed a courtroom, law firm, or any legal job. Oh well.

Medical School = GREAT BARRIERS TO ENTRY

Law School = NO BARRIERS TO ENTRY

Medical School = Great Expense for the School/Program

Law School = CASH COW!!!!

Not pretending to be a law student here but that's more of what I meant saying he is virtually a "lock" to get in.

I'm sure that was part of the pitch they gave/promised him.

If you don't think the "cloud" effected us you're literally living in a fantasy world. If the NCAA doesn't have an internal problem and is forced to investigate themselves, who really knows how much more severe it would have been or not. I think Golden maybe tried to stay faithful to the kids who stayed through it all, such as the Highsmith's and Rodger's and kept some young, more talented players on the bench. Atleast that's what I'm hoping.

I felt like I was watching a propaganda video or something. It was like they were trying to remind us of just how bad and impossibly challenging it was to be under that investigation. Yet, when the investigation was over, we finish 2-4 and get boat raced by a sorry *** VTech team and lose to Duke after being up 17-7 early. Sorry. The cloud didn't do that. Your ****** coaching, preparation and scheming inadequacies did that. And because of those inadequacies, we failed to close on some of the big names on our board. It wasn't the cloud. It was you. This just ****ed me off more.

Of course, it's called marketing and PR. You think Miami is going to put something out that says they **** the bed at the end of the year?

Not sure why people get rustled over this stuff. I've been plenty critical of everyone in the football program but would be ****ed if they didn't try to market it this way.

This Raising Canes was sad. Sad, not because it was "clouded", but because it was so defensive.

Sorry, didn't mean to use that word, "defensive". What I meant to say was that the defensive posture was offensive, but trending up.
