Still living rent free, even on Christmas Day.
I don't get all of the Manny hate. He got a job he didn't deserve here. We got Mario now. We're on to bigger and better things.
He'll go back to what he should've been doing, perfecting, learning, prepping for his next opportunity. Hopefully he does well at Penn State and parlays that into another HC gig like a Temple where he can learn how to be a good HC. Best of luck to him.
Lol like having depth issues, specifically on defense, that he had 6 years to recruit? Nah. He might’ve broke even at the absolute best and I say that only because he hired someone who brought UM’s offense into the 21st century. Ironically though, wasn’t his side of the ball.Say what you will. But CMD is probably the only coach since Butch who left the U better than he found her. You can make an argument for Richt as well.
You would charge him rent on Christmas?! That’s a Scrooge move…Still living rent free, even on Christmas Day.
I rarely dislike coaches. These are individuals that are passionate about their careers and work very long hours.Agree, onto bigger and better—but he's still the type of character that's easy to dislike because we know all his ticks, so this all bark, no bite, empty suit, all the answers energy he's bringing to Penn State is ... annoying. They're talking the guy up like he's the second coming of something and he's a total fraud.
The yacht to the booster event. Tackling dummies with "7-6" on their chests and then going 6-7. Sliding around in the rain post-Virginia. Victory cigars after beating a terrible FSU team. Losing to FIU, Duke and shutout by Louisiana Tech in a bowl game. 0-3 against Mack and 62-24 against North Carolina. 2-4 to start this season and then riding TVD to wins while his defense was trash. Dumb personnel moves that allow 4th-and-14 to take place.
Never once thought about Coker, Shannon, Golden or Richt when they were gone—but seeing Diaz all over Penn State's social media and his dumb little digs about the honor of coaching "Linebacker U"—he's an easy guy to root against and dislike.
No fault of his UM had its own issues, but program also lost another three years under him, pushing the Canes further into mediocrity—21-15 run over that span—which absolutely is his fault.
Dude is a clown. Tries too hard to be liked / accepted by players—like the uncool brother home from college trying to hang out with his brother's high school friends—instead of healthily feared / respected, like all great coaches. Good riddance.
