New commit

Dont love the tape and he is not a 4 star kid but people forget when Chad Thomas committed to us last spring/summer he was a 3 *. I just hope the coaches are good in their projections and these kids blow up their senior year.

Thomas was a four star everywhere when he committed here but ok, hope this dude I ends up better than his tape looks

Our entire class is gonna be filled with three stars lolz.

Sorta kidding.

We better hope we win some games and show some life next year, or this will come to fruition.

We've taken plenty of flyers on guys who are raw and may have some ability, but aren't in the upper-echelon of top high school talent.

Given how loaded south Florida is this year, this is a very underwhelming start.

Since offers are a big deal. Spence has them from Auburn and USC. Feder has them from Michigan State and Tennessee. Perry has one from Auburn. Everyone wants Archibald. Mahoney has one from BC, they generally produce if not NFL O-Lineman then good college OL. So schools who get big time recruits or do a good job at projecting at certain positions have taken those flyers as well.

I'm not saying offers are a big deal. The tapes on nearly all of these kids, outside of Archibald, are decent to good.

Perhaps the "taking a flyer" reference wasn't appropriate, but, in my mind, we need great talent to overcome a decent Miami coaching staff. We're not getting that.

I remember when a kid named Brad Kaaya had only 2 offers until what November, one from San Diego St. and the other from............ oh UM! But automatically the offers a kid has matters and the stars matter too! I remember when Travis Rudolph, Chad Thomas, Brad Kaaya, Alex Collins, Trayone Gray, Juwon Young, JC Jackson and so many others that I can't name off the top of my head were 3*s at this time and nobody here wanted them either

Thing is so crazy because I wasn't all that impressed with Archibald. At least not as a TE. He didn't look all that fluid to me. Mahoney is agile, can move. Important with all the zone blocking and spread stuff we want to run. Reminds me of those lean Oregon OL that are in that offense.

What about his tape did you not like?

I'll probably get negged, but I'm not liking the way this class is shaking out so far.

I believe we have close to ten commits and only one is a 4 star. Yes, stars aren't everything but this reminds me of Golden's '12 class where he took a ton of guys who aren't Miami caliber.

Agreed, time to get some of the guys we've heard of on board

The star whores on here are the worst.

I'm no star *****.

The fact is, we have 7 commits and all of them except one are 3 stars. The one that isn't is a low 4 star on ONE site.

That might be OK at Duke, because they have the staff to coach them up. We don't. We need 4 and 5 stars if we're ever gonna do anything.

Every year I hear about the kids in next years class being loaded. I read a lot of names after that statement. I sure hope some of the impact players decide to be Canes because at some point we have to stop taking depth pieces and start to build impact talent.

This kid is undersized and underpowered, but does move pretty well. He also has a mean streak.

I'm excited for the kid and welcome to the U.

I hope the next kid I read committed is an impact athletic talent that would be a game changer for us.

Not overly excited based on his junior clips.

Light in the *** and isn't very powerful. He will gain some weight in college, but I'm getting a Matt Pipho vibe.

Who cares about the stars, we have a bunch of commits that can play, we will get the big fish, every revruiting cycle is different

I agree I think we still have room for 11 commits.. We all know who those 11 special guys are.. ..

total commits 21..

The End

Did people react the same way they're reacting to this pickup? If the film looks good people won't ***** about it. When people watched the tape on Collins, Rudolph, Gray etc. the talent was obvious. This isn't the same situation as those.

Ppl need to chill. No bat signal yet. Point blank- this prospect is not UM material.

You're also talking about skill players. They run fast, break tackles and catch the football. That is easier to project. You're watching a 16 year old junior who by the time he practices for Miami might be 20 lbs heavier and a inch or 2 taller. What position does he project to? What scheme is he being recruited for? A power scheme or zone scheme. Is Coley looking for more athletic, lighter OL? We ran alot of outside zone. Need guys who can get to the second level.
