ND started Spring Practice

So you’re a ND fan or what? Because that board is over there >>>>>.
Guess what? Miami started spring practice as well. You’re sure spittin’ a lot of ND news with those 13 posts. Thanks for the update.

When that night comes I’ll be a convict, just like I was on 11/11/17. I remember ND was supposed to walk the dog on us back then too. Thanks to that game I have tinnitus and ain’t never gotten rid of it. Hopefully it gets worse on 8/31.

BTW, just cuz the game is at night, don’t think it won’t be a sauna. Have a nice day.
The quintessential CIS response.

This was textbook.

if Beck is healthy and we can establish the run i think we will be ok.
having the game at home obviously helps as we learned last time.

Their RB Love is legit though, and sounds like the OL is as well.
If Guidry was still here that game bc of their OL and Love reminds me of that UNC game from 2020

Talked to my nephew last night about ND starting spring practice.
With the new rule making teams have only 105 players total, not 85 scholarship and unlimited walk-ons, he definitely will no longer be a player/manager, but just a manager moving forward. LOL

ND started on Wednesday, and obviously nothing can be taken from being in shorts & t-shirts.
He mentioned two things though that were of note that could actually mean something.

1) ND played their last regular season game in November, and the title game on January 20th. So they basically had 2 full months of practice in that time. He said that’s the length of two spring and one full fall camp. But it’s better because every practice was a game week, intense practice, unlike spring & part of fall camps.
Said that the ND players who were not starters basically got 2 months of taking real reps against the 1’s, which was invaluable. With all the injuries ND had, a lot of freshmen & sophomores last season were able to rep & play those 2 months against elite competition, who will be playing this season.
Advancing in the CFP gets you a lot of extra practice for real. So ND got to see a lot of the younger players in that environment, that usually you wouldn’t get to see.

2) The OL is huge & athletic now they are all back. ND lost 4 starters to injury last year, so basically played the CFP with their 2nd string OL. All five starters are back, plus two players who ended up having to start, so top 7 OL.
And the five they rolled out were three 5 Stars & two top 50. That doesn’t include the kid who filled in who was the Freshman All American or the top OT 5 Star in the last class.
The 5 that started off were:
6’7.25 320 (5 Star)
6’5.5 302 (Preseason All American)
6’8 318 (Backup, while starter recovers)
6’7.5 334 (5 Star)
6’6.25 300 (5 Star)

ND feels they are going to have the best OL in the country, and will have 8 guys battling for 5 spots, since so many starters are back from injury, battling the kids who filled in all CFP.

Nothing more to take away, because the first half of spring practice is worthless & nothing but unicorns & rainbows for 130 teams, when 120 of them actually aren’t that good, but somehow every player looks explosive, every coach in an upgrade, & everyone is going undefeated. LOL
tell you nephew to F off for me thanks. Catholics are idol worshipping cult. ND sucks *** and thanks for the info.

WTF, he was just providing some insight on our first opponent...don't get your panties in a wad
I don't need no insight on my first opponent nor do I wear panties or underwear. The dude is basically pumping up ND on our board and I don't want to hear about it. If you do, slide on over to the ND board and get your fill. This is a MIAMI board and I don't care to hear nothing about ND.

Well, by saying you "don't need no insight" and you "don't care to hear nothing" actually means you do need insight, and you do care to hear about ND because you're speaking in double negatives, but I doubt you even understand what that means. So, keep firing away tough guy

Notre Dane was 47th in total offense and 21st in yards per play, They actually ran for more yards than they threw for and that was with an experienced passer at quarterback. If they win, it’s not going to be because they dominated on offense. It will be because their defense forced turnovers and gave them excellent field position. They’re not built for shootouts and absolutely are not built to come back if they fall behind.

As I said, Georgia Tech on steroids. We will lose this game without more talent. Our DTs and LBers are just not good enough.

Agree. Because what you are left with is having to win with TOs and on special teams and that’s tough to do. I think we will be pretty good at DT, it’s LB I am very concerned about. Right now, we have not seen a single LB who can make plays like they will need to that night. Won’t be much in the portal either. Going to have to come from someone on the roster.

How dare you sir!!!??!??

It is where hopes are built, lies are told and kool aid is flowing through our pores…

Good thing we now have some legitimate cover guys cause I have a feeling we are going to need to sell out to stop their rushing attack.

We need a difference making LB desperately, another none dud DL wouldn’t hurt either.
I need to be lied to again and told we don’t need no DL daddies and LB don’t win or lose football games

Let’s go!!

1st off, if our defense is still horrible we’re going to lose a lot more than just the Notre dame game. Secondly, Georgia Tech only scored 28 points against us. Seeing how bad we were defensively, that’s nothing special.

They controlled the game and forced their game on us and there was nothing we could do about it. Obviously, if ND does the same, well, we will likely end up with a negative result. Reality is that it is Spring, our D and O are question marks vs. last year, there is time to fill gaps, ND should be pretty **** good. Year 4. At home. Rivalry game. No excuses.

Win on TOs, and keep it even on STs. Balance offense. Get their QB on the ground, and don’t let Love and Price run for 300 yards. Their defense will be excellent, but I am confident we will move the ball and score TDs. Going to come down to our DL and LBs. Can they be good enough to win a top 5 type matchup. Notre Dame is definitely a top 5 team on talent. I think Vegas has the game about right. Miami moves to a slight favorite if Beck has a good summer. Game can go either way. Can’t wait. For the guys on the board my age, this is the matchup.
