ND started Spring Practice

I know most people realize this, but 2017 has nothing to do with 2025 when both teams have all new staffs.
I was reading an article comparing Brian Kelly & Marcus Freeman, and it’s crazy how different they are in big games.
Brian Kelly was horrible. He had one top 5 win in 12 years at ND, and was well below .500 in top 10 games. He only beat teams ND was a lot better then.
The article said Marcus Freeman already has more top 5 wins in 3 seasons than Brian Kelly & James Franklin have combined in over 20 seasons at ND & PSU.
I thought ND was going to lose the opener last year at a ranked Texas A&M, in the heat, in front of 112,000 fans, night game. ND won by double-digits.
Marcus Freeman is the anti-Brian Kelly.
So you’re a ND fan or what? Because that board is over there >>>>>.
Guess what? Miami started spring practice as well. You’re sure spittin’ a lot of ND news with those 13 posts. Thanks for the update.

When that night comes I’ll be a convict, just like I was on 11/11/17. I remember ND was supposed to walk the dog on us back then too. Thanks to that game I have tinnitus and ain’t never gotten rid of it. Hopefully it gets worse on 8/31.

BTW, just cuz the game is at night, don’t think it won’t be a sauna. Have a nice day.

Didn’t eat Nelson alive, he was a complete stud.
The ND QB in that game was the RB who masqueraded as a QB. That kid couldn’t throw at all, lol. He ended up getting benched for a walk on.
I remember times in that game Miami having 9 dudes in the box with zero bodies beyond 5 yards of the LOS.
The ND QB still couldn’t complete a pass.
Brandon Wimbush, or something like that. I watched him during warmup and he was throwing ducks way off target. Knew he'd throw a pick or 2. He was bad

The best part of playing ND in game 1 is the fear it will put in the Gators knowing they come to Hard Rock just a week after getting abused at LSU.

ND might have a decent OL, but they'll have to earn every yard, especially with an inexperienced QB

Miami's OL will be elite also, and isn't going to take a back seat to anyone.

Miami's OL will be bigger, return 5 players who started games last season.

You could make a strong argument the by the end of the season 2024 Miami and Notre Dame had the 2 best OL's.

You can make another strong argument that starting off 2025 season Miami and Notre Dame have the 2 best OL's.

Mauigoa will be the best OL in the game, and highest rated OL prospect.

Our front 7 will need to play tough and physical, and back 7 needs to tackle well.

In the 2017 game ND was calling those slow developing running plays and our D was eating that **** up.

ND is loaded. I believe they have more talent then any of Kelly's (really dislike) teams and he made a few playoffs. I really like Freeman and his team got better as the season went on, coaching. Something Kelly did for them and what Bowden always did for FSU, improve through the season. We haven't seen that in 20 years, sadly. Our D and with so much turnover on O, everything is unknown until they take the field. ND has a lot returning and confidence now. I believe we match that talent and if developed, we can win. It's going to be a tough environment for Angeli to make his first start. Beck is surely not going to be the intimidated. It's our toughest game. If we lose, just keep developing and we are good. I would love for us to recreate the 17 stadium atmosphere again. The tailgate, the atmosphere, the drunken Cane/Irish fight at the concession and most important, the win.

Good thing we now have some legitimate cover guys cause I have a feeling we are going to need to sell out to stop their rushing attack.

We need a difference making LB desperately, another none dud DL wouldn’t hurt either.

Been saying this since the VT or Cal game. DB has been fixed. But LB and DT have only partially been addressed.

I'm right there with you. However, I believe their defense is better geared to stop our run than our defense is to stop their run. I do think we'll have a better passing game. But we lost to Georgia Tech, and these guys are Georgia Tech on steroids. We need more help on defense.

WTF, he was just providing some insight on our first opponent...don't get your panties in a wad

Beck vs their QB… I like Beck all day. And remember, they play in Miami. I don’t care what stars the pundits give you or how big and athletic you think you are… playing in Miami when you come from Indiana is a different experience. Let’s not forget, in 2017… they had two first rounders on their OL and even young Jon Garvin feast on them. So basically what I’m saying… Miami 30 - ND 17.
