Name that Miami likes at WR

IMO. There is nothing wrong with the staff believing in Emory. Also, if they believe he is the real deal they are doing him a disservice if they don’t bring in as much talent as possible for him to compete with. Both are not mutually exclusive
The staff believing in Emory is not an issue. He’s given them every reason to. What I’m speaking to is just how much they believe in him and how it’s getting lost in translation. They think he can be a good one full stop. Where Cis is taking it is not where I think they’re willing to take it lol

I’ve followed recruiting for a long time now. You don’t post this unless there’s truth behind the smoke. This simping fool probably realizes his usefulness could be ending soon.

Not saying he’s a Miami lock. Idk where he ends up but again this post isn’t made if there’s nothing to be said.

As I already stated kid is elite. Watch the tape. Better than Trader. This would be a massive win for Mario if he pulls it off. Kids like this don’t usually leave $EC country.
U sure bout dat? Trader is Elite after the catch, doesn’t drop anything, a monster on the 50/50 balls (BIG PAUSE), and he’s a deep ball monster( BIG BIG PAUSE), NY is definitely faster though & he’s a great player, I just don’t know if he’s a better player than Trader

I remember the going to war tweet during Jobe’s recruitment. Maybe because we are usually on the other side of these things I’m seeing it differently. Multiple visits to other schools, a noticeable campaign by players committed to other schools. A tweet like this is pretty meaningless, if he keeps going to other school’s games.

Yeah the way I look at it is if the tables were turned and he was committed here and doing the same stuff this place would be meltdown mode. Same like you said with Jobe, he was tweeting out pics of ST up until **** near the day he dipped. Smith has also been all over the board, remember his tweet where he said he was shut down and NEVER coming back to UM? Now he is coming to our game and I feel has def been back on campus. Unsure where he goes but if I was OSU I am not NOT sweating this thing out until signing day.

These young men are in high school. Your expertise in viewing film has determined one is better than the other?

I don't even know if they'll play the same WR position. I tend to think not.

Lastly, just like our current WRs, they have different skillsets that make them unique. One doesn't have to be better than the other. They're just different. Both have skill sets we covet.

Just think back to last year. Could any of us have ever imagined a top WR recruit, who was commited to the national champs, saying that Miami's offense is just too good to pass up?!

It feels like a dream

I'm going to come across as a total dyiick slurper. But yes, I definitely believed it then. You guys were so hung up on our failures last year, especially Gattass, and the belief Mario was committed to a Bro Offense. It was clear to a lot of us that Mario would never settle for "mediocre and boring". He F-ed up bigtime in his coordinator hires ... BIG TIME. But the man left a Top 5-7 program in Oregon to make Miami great again. There was no way he was going to fail. It was just a question of time.

Also, despite the fact Nick f-ing Saban desperately wanted him, everyone magically forgot how impressive TVD was over the last 7 games of 2021. He average over 300 ypg with a significantly more porous OL, essentially no blocking TEs, and a much weaker RB room. What I couldn't predict was this group of WRs would be better than Rambo/Harley/KSmith/Restrepo. But every other piece was certain to be better. ... So fix the OC, and the team was primed to fire on all engines.

We're just so conditioned to expect failure that we fans weren't willing to (fully) believe in what Mario was building, even as the boosters, administration, former players, existing players, recruits and transfers all bought in.

I mean idk somehow they selling Emory to y’all so I don’t see how it wouldn’t work lol y’all really got a lot of faith in that kid
I make money to do it.. so…whoops! Bet you thought you had a gotcha. Lol you’re trying to be disrespectful to me for an opinion I had and put your foot in your mouth. So im going to respectfully withdraw from this convo lol im open to being wrong just like I was wrong with miller. Shout out to him.
Yeah, but I thought you were asking me my initial thoughts on him.

I was asking your initial thoughts on him...

Then I asked your current thoughts on Emory to illustrate that even if you "make money to do it" or have a trained eye your initial assessment/evaluation of him was...off.

So how can you characterize "selling Emory" futures with such derision?

I haven't seen "a lot of faith in that kid" going back to his recruitment and any confidence people have gained has been guarded/measured, at best. To be quite honest, your words on this thread about Emory's impressiveness and ability to play have been among the most substantial levels of validation since he's been here.

He's exceeded the expectations of some with/without a trained eye; so who knows where his ceiling is or if confidence in the ceiling is rational or irrational?

I’m not sure how serious you’re being. Are you not on the same site I’m on? There are people here calling the kid the future and a first rounder. I’m matching the energy. I find that utterly ridiculous when the kid hasn’t taken a snap worth anything. They say they hear that from the staff, ok cool let’s say thats true and go with it, my initial evaluation of him in detail hasn’t been shared. I said I see the tools I just don’t see a guy who’s the starter in year 2. My opinion is and will remain until shown otherwise he’s a few years away from being a starter that moves the needle in a TVD like way. Even if I am wrong (which i hope I am i’m a fan of Miami) isn’t that just the name of the game? It won’t be the first or last time I missed on a eval.
