Morris ranked 38th on NFL.com list of top 100 seniors

Morris' game vs Florida hurt his stock a bit. If he plays well against FSU and VT he'll shoot up.

If anything, that game should have helped Morris. He made a couple clutch throws and showed restraint for the first time in his career.

Morris has the only passing TD's against UF.

Yes but he didn't look good at all besides that spurt in the 1st quarter.

Stephen Morris still had better numbers then any QB that Florida has been up against this year.....

Morris: 162 yards 2 TDs 1 Int

Z. Mettenburger (LSU): 152 yards 0 TDs, 0 int

J. Worley (Tenn.): 149 yards 1 TD 2 Int

Yes he did. But I think you'd agree he didn't play all that well besides the 1st quarter.

he wasnt the greatest that game but he did what we needed him to do. he fared better in that game than any other qb that UF has played so far and he was the first qb to throw a 50 plus yard td on their D in years. no qb has looked great all season but morris has looked the best to this point (against UF) . also, were the only team to put up 20 plus points on UF all season and 14 of em were from morris.

Morris is the 6th QB on that list. And that's only seniors. If the guys from UCLA and/or Utah State come out, Stephen could find himself the 8th QB on the open board.

How many QB typically get drafted in a typical NFL draft?

Lol ol SFbayCane here you go being one of the bigger pessimist on this board as usual..... typical.

The list list isnt written in stone and if you had a clue you would've known that by know since the NFL draft has been in existence for quite awhile.

EJ Manuel wasnt even considered a 1st day selection n/m a 1st round QB midway through his senior career.

Stephen Morris is better then every Senior QB in CFB, including Tahj Boyd, he's better then Teddy B, he's better then UCLA's Bret Hundley, and when NFL scouts begin to study his film carefully and after Senior Bowl, NFL combine, interviews, etc.... his stock will do nothing but go up.

I disagree that the Florida game "hurt" his stock..... how would anyone even know that?

NFL scouts dig deep and find out a lot of things about players they are evaluating..... it's easy to make that conclusion from the outside looking in. But when NFL scouts start talking to the UM coaching staff, and carefully watching the tape, they will say the same thing Al Golden said, which was Stephen Morris executed the game plan that Al Golden wanted perfectly.

A couple of bad plays against what is considered the best secondary/defense in the nation isnt going to "hurt" anyone's stock especially when they see how great those 2 TDs were and how great of a job he did executing the offense when he did score those 2 TDs.

He certainly didn't do anything he hasn't done 1,000 times already as far as negatives. Pro scouts know he is up and down. The TD throw to Waters was one he struggled with in the past, and tucking and checking down like he has been doing lately, and playing with restraint is something pro scouts will want to see.

The biggest thing working against Morris is the strength of the QB class. It's one of the deepest groups in a while.

I get the feeling he ends up in Cleveland or Arizona. Those teams run vertical offenses that suit his skillset.

I think he's going to measure out somewhere around 6'0.5" inches at the combine which might hurt his draft stock. I see him as a solid 2nd rounder.

He has a cannon for a right arm, decent size and wheels. He'll get a shot. He's gonna wow at the combine when he starts winging deep outs with ease.

I agree. Stephen does very well in 7 on 7/camp settings. That is how most NFL GM's evaluate players. The combo of Stephen's arm strength and mobility will get him into someone's camp. What he does from there is on him.

If you're going to critique my highly intellectual postings :p please pay closer attention to the language I use. There was nothing pessimestic in my post above. The link in the OP is from NFL.com, so I assume that to be the opinions of people who have some ties to the nfl. Ive also seen stuff from NFL people where they talk up the kids from UCLA and Utah State.

Im not disagreeing with your take that Stephen will have plenty of opportunities to better his draft position. That said, Im really just elaborating on D-Money's take that this is an unusually deep QB draft in 2014.

Can you answer my question about how many QBs typically get drafted in a typical draft? I have no idea. But lets be clear; Ther is a very real possibility of Stephen Morris being the 6th, 7th, or 8th QB drafted. That's not pessimism, just a possible reality.

If he measures in at that height he will be picked no earlier than the 3rd round. I actually don't see him drafted before round 3 even if he comes in at 6'2.

Morris needs to be more consistent down the stretch. For the team's sake and his NFL future.

Based on his arm and some of the things we've seen from him, he should be higher on that list but for what he's done so far this season, he doesn't deserve to be. He's got to earn it and I think he's more than capable. I think he could be an above avg. NFL QB if he continues to improve and is drafted by a team with a good QB coach. All I really care about right now is him continuing to improve this season to take this team where we belong. If he does that I think it will translate to NFL success.

last five years about 12 qb drafted each draft.

again I don't know why people keep trying to predict that he'll be a 3rd, 4th, 5th round pick. I don't know where he'll be drafted (don't really care), but I know no one really has enough info to really say it at this point (**** even Brant says kid could still be the #1 qb in his top 100 list). He still has more than half a season left to play. More importantly he has a chance to face the mighty air & grass defense in shorts and a tee shirt in front of NFL people. If this past summer was any indication we know he can put on a show in that type of setting. Think I'm lying I'll start name dropping QB that are considered somewhat successful or atleast haven't been labled bust yet. First up someone tell me what was so special about Ryan Tannehill at the end of his last regular season college game against UT. I'm going to watch my boy play and I'll drop another name when i get back.

???? yeah the offense started out slow for different reasons but Stephen Morris is throwing over a 61% completion percentage and has been in the 70s the last couple games. Right now he deserves to be higher only b/c he's being overlooked b/c he isnt getting all the hype, it has little to nothing to do w/ his performance as if it hasnt been playing good.

As of right now the game film will be a bunch of good and bad. But some of those throws (i.e. that pass to Coley against GT) are really difficult for NFL players to make and the mobility is above average, I think an NFL GM will see a lot of raw materials and some mistakes (i.e. throwing the fastball and the check down).

I think as it stands he is probably the 8-10th best QB available (*assuming all these guys leave)

1. Johnny Football*,
2. Brett Hundley*,
3. Teddy Bridgewater*,
4. Marcus Mariota*,
5. Tajh Boyd

(I think many consider this the top 5 in some random order)

6. Derek Carr
7. Zach Mettenberger
8. David Fales
9. Aaron Murray
10. Stephen Morris

(6-10 are not really ranked in any order just the 2nd tier of guys)

At this point in time, a third round pick would not shock me. It would not shock me if some of the * stayed in school that he could be in the second round.

As a frame of reference here are the drafted QBs over the last 3 years

Average QBs Drafted: 11.3
Average QBs Drafted in rounds 1-3: 5.6

2013:11 Drafted
Rounds 1-3: EJ Manuel, G. Smith and M. Glennon
Rounds 4-7: T. Wilson, M. Barkley, R. Nassib, L. Jones, Z. Dysert, B. Sorensen, B. Renfree and BJ Daniels

2012: 11 Drafted
Rounds 1-3: A. Luck, R. Griffin III, R. Tannehill, B. Weeden, B. Osweiler, N. Foles and R. Wilson
Rounds 4-7: K. Cousins, BJ Coleman, R. Lindley and C. Harnish

2011: 12 Drafted
Rounds 1-3: C. Newton, J. Locker, A. Dalton, B. Gabbert, C. Ponder, C. Kaepernik and R. Mallet
Rounds 4-7: R. Stanzi, TJ Yates, N. Enderle, T. Taylor and G. McElroy,

LOL hilarious..... you think every QB but Stephen Morris in college is perfect? smh

Every QB on that list has just as many flaws as Stephen Morris.

Teddy Bridgewater is nowhere near a top 5 QB in the draft...... his flaws are way more overt then Stephen Morris's.

Brett Hundley hasnt looked more impressive then Stephen Morris this year.....the only thing Hundley has over Morris is he's bigger.

If 6-10 isnt in no particular order then why put Stephen Morris last???.... He is a far more NFL caliber quarterback then Aaron Murray or David Fales.???

This is what i think the QB ranking should right now:

Top 5

1. Marucs Mariotta
2. Johnny Football
3. Stephen Morris
4. Tahj Boyd
5. Brett Hundley ( He should comeback for another year)

Bottom 5

6. Derek Carr
7. Teddy Bridgewater (He would be smart to comeback for another year too)
8. Zach Mettenberger
9. Aaron Murray
10.David who?

What are Teddy's flaws that cause him to be ranked 7th and should make him go back to school?

Very weak arm, not that accurate unless receivers are wide open..... he's not a starting NFL QB right now. He would do himself a favor by going back to school and playing well in the ACC.

as per the Rutgers game..I saw nothing that would make me draft teddy over Morris..
