MJJ's top 7

Backup plan is Max Johnson 2020. If we sign nobody it is much more of a clear path for Pastor Richts nephew to play meaningful downs at the U. Not saying he doesn't want to land MJJ.
Take it how you want but its far more likely we take Harrison bailey than max johnson. #justsayin

I like bailey better but he doesn’t seem athletic nor has he visited in awhile. This would be surprising.
He was here during spring. Personally i think both of them are mainly hype. But both do have the tools to get it done.

Not sold on a kid who's future is not sure to be a QB. Not a good look and not a good evaluation.

Nebraska and Penn St want him as a QB, that's good enough for me. Kid has tons of legit QB offers, just won QB MVP at Rivals' West Coast camp, and was invited to the UA Game as a QB.

So, let's not act like the opinion of Oregon should matter above all else. They seem to want a true pro-style guy, no reason we need to follow that same logic.

My concern is with not pursuing any other options. Maybe we can flip someone but we shouldn't be in that spot

Good point RichtShow...hate waiting until the last minute and trying to flip someone. Worked with Jarren Williams but I think that is the exception rather than the rule. We can't count on that every year.

Johnson has a better arm and a far better athlete than bailey
You might feel so. Id agree on the athlete part but max game doesnt show that evaluation to be accurate. Arm strength only takes you so far. If those two factors end all qb discussions derrick crudup wouldve been the goat here with ryan collins and kenny kelly a close 2nd & 3rd.

Yeah both need work but I still don’t evision any of them playing until a redshirt junior year or so. I think Jarren Williams is going to take the reins of qb and run with it. We haven’t had a qb this talented with this type of work ethic in a really long time

Bingo. Only problem with that approach is it takes out of the equation the need to develop another starting qb as a backup & have necessary depth in the room. What were experiencing now is a situation that should never be allowed to transpire in any power 5 contenders program

Got to take 1 guy a year. Might need to take 2because Cade may leave and malik is done after the season leaving us with 2(3 if Johnson comes and Weldon indeed transfers )

Definitely need to take 1 a year, but I'd hate to see us take 2 to get the numbers right if one of them isn't a top talent. If we're all in on MJJ, then I think we only take 1 if we don't get him and go for 2 next year. As for 3, that seems like a bad idea. Presumably at least 1 of them would transfer, but it's still.

I'd be pretty surprised if Cade transferred. I mean, why would he? He'll likely be the #2 QB next year. And his transfer options are going to be pretty limited, it's not like he's going to be promised a starting job at any decent school.

More likely I think he'll be here next year, then go as a grad transfer like Sherrifs if he's still not the starter. So 2019 IMO:

QB 1: Jarren
QB 2: Weldon
QB 3: Recruit
