Miami's Portal Class

I knew someone would object to that lol. But for all that we failed to take a knee, and the refs got the "fumble" call wrong, we were still ahead 3 and just needed to stop them. It was 100% ALSO a failure of defense as we didn't get to the QB, and Couch and Kam mistimed jumping the routes. Those last 2 minutes were a complete disaster across the board.

We don't have average coaching though. Mario has proven time and again he is far below average when it comes to game-day coaching. I mean the guy has refused to take a knee not once, but twice, in his career that cost his team a win. He is an awesome recruiter though. If, as others have said, he gets out of the way and let's his coordinators do their thing, we win 11 games, the ACC championship and make the playoff...this team has the talent plus a relatively easy schedule. Fingers crossed

Money is an awesome recruiter today. We need to see if his recruits, portal and high school, translate to wins. Then you can say he's a good recruiter. Ranked classes don't come without a big financial investment here until we start winning while producing draft picks.

Unless cam ward gets hurt we should easily win 10 games. He is probably the best QB we have had since Dorsey. He has better arm talent than Stephen morris and brad kaaya. If they open up the offense no reason we can't win 10 plus.
There’s NO reason this team shouldn’t win 11 plus games. This roster is loaded deep and outside of the secondary it should be better than every roster. If not now when?

Far more talented ON PAPER than 2023 poo. Not trying to disparage what they did. But it was a lot of real basic football being played with them.

Then we had better equal or come **** close to what they did. There are no more excuses if there's far more talent on paper. He should be eviscerated for anything less than their run last year.

I'm not saying I believe we're far more talented, I gotta see it first.

No, he's a good recruiter...whether or not he is a good evaluator of talent is the question. But you can't downplay the fact he is getting highly ranked players to the U.

We have several holes in our starting unit that we'll need to address but top to bottom night and day. Last year's team should've beat that trash and several others as well. Trust me I get it. You guys can't wait to say we should get to tear into him. If only y'all would use that same energy to celebrate anything he does this place might actually be tolerable.

Are you people kidding me? This **** is wild around here.

did he have the same questions at every other stop he's been at in any capacity? This **** is just sad. Honestly I wish Carol would've stayed out of all of this. Cause all this fanbase deserves is clowns like Mandy diaz & other temple coaches.

Does 2024 Miami have more talent than 2023 FSU?

If Travis doesn’t break his leg, they 1000% go to the playoffs. And that’s a 4 team playoff, not 12 like this year.

I think this team is as talented as FSU was last year. So why can’t the ceiling be the roof? Coach with some competence and let your QB cook. Your DL has 47 combined career sacks, more than anyone in the nation. You got 3 of the 10 best receivers in the ACC. You got a Top 5 national back. You got 5 stars on both lines. Go get it the **** done.
I think fsu defense is way better than ours. Coleman/Wilson/Bell/Benson with norvell as a playcaller is better than what we have.

I think the ceiling can be high for us but natty? Not close and I never thought fsu was that either last year…Also that was year 4 for norvell and travis 3rd year in that system, that makes a difference

We're close. Offense is already "there". Defense is missing a top DT and one or two top DBs to be dominant. If/when we lose games, I expect it will be due to the defense like what happened to us vs. UL, and Rutgers last season (and GT that last series). But we're so much better on offense that taken together, with some luck, we could make a run.
I think we can make the playoffs but natty? I don’t think we’re close to bama/osu/texas/oregon/uga. We have good talent those teams have great talent

Big difference is coaching.
Norvell is much better coach than Mario.
Not sure about coordinators either.
Dawson and Guidry both need to improve dramatically to take team to another level.

I think if you get the same as last year from both coordinators Miami wins 10 with ease. TVD ruined lik 5 games by being brain dead
Puzzling how so many wanna center blame so much on the coaches while giving TVD so little equal criticism in comparison. Shows me our rivals + media narratives against Mario have been very effective even against our own fanbase.

I was watching the 2023 Canes v Noles game on YT yesterday. Forgot how sweet that pass from Williams to George was to tighten up the game, and then the sack by Kiko with a little help from Bain. Guidry on the sidelines fist pumping, was awesome. Williams gets a first down, we have momentum. But then he doesn't get up, he's broken his arm. ... TVD comes in and ***** the bed.

Don't you know bro, Emory's broken arm + TVD game sealing INT were Mario's fault.
