Miami's defensive staff vs the competition (Recruiting).

Some fans think Miami 'sells itself' but those days are long gone, if they ever existed. Coach Richt is doing a great job rebuilding South Florida relationships but it will take time and will take more success on the field and in the draft. Over time the defensive coaches will (hopefully) improve as they have an even better product to sell.

One group Miami needs to recruit better is their own players. Too many guys have tried jumped to the NFL as middle-to-low round draft picks, or UFAs.

I’ve always been high on Rayshawn Jenkins but we all can agree his game was brought to another level just like corn elders was his senior year.
The db coaches can point to the development of current players now like Jaquan Johnson who EVERYONE know as well as Michael Jackson. These are guys they are actively developing in addition to the other guys in the secondary. Also Adrian Colbert from last year who stays repping the U built a ton of hype off his rookie season.

If you can’t see the db development isn’t worlds better than Paul Williams and the golden regime then you just ain’t trying to.

Don’t give me Kirby at bama developing dbs because everyone knows saban literally coaches that position in daily practices. And you are talking about kirby smart at uga developing dbs? Let’s even the playing field who has developed better dbs in the last 2 years Mel tucker/ Kirby or rumph/Banda. It’s EASILY the Miami coaches and it isn’t particularly close
I feel this, but they can’t speak to development and nfl draft in conjunction because they don’t have the resume yet. Kirby nem can easily provide recruits with a list of players he coached that were high draft picks and how much they salaries were. Which supports the new “business decision” jargon these days.

At what point do we stop blaming "The Bag Man" and just admit that we got out recruited?

Believe it or not, some staffs can actually recruit really well.
This is the one time I have to disagree with my boy @Coach Macho .......them higher up elite guys get red carpet at the u. At those other schools they get floating houses with jets packs and flying uber planes. And thats how they get outrecruited so your actually half right IMO

Calling our coaches "green *** coaches" on this, or any forum for that matter, will surely help in our recruiting. (sarcasm) What other coaches were available at the time? What other coaches should CMR have pursued? Of any of these, what coaches would have come to the U with the train wreck CMR inherited?

All new HC's are faced with the same challenges when hiring a new staff. New coaches to a new staff are poached from other programs to the same position (OC to OC, etc.) or coaches from other programs are promoted when brought in to a new staff. Turnover in coaching also presents it's challenges. Look at Sabag. He's had a coaching change **** near every year. Where does he get replacements? Usually with in. A lower level coach gets promoted. Or he poaches a coach from another program. Happen all the time.
Yea Kool added some experience but unfortunately his recruiting was horrible. But imo we need someone else that has a lengthy resume . The Patke hire is questionable to me.

mel tucker was to the bears what dnofrio was to the canes, he came in and immediately set records for defensive futility reaching horrible stats never seen before for the Chicago bears he was god awful
Just because someone coaches in the nfl doesnt mean they are equipped for college recruiting, Gms do that in the league and they dont have to kiss up to kids. CFB is way different u have to be a dog and have charisma to relate to the kids and as in dog I mean do whatever it takes to get a kid to sign.

And FWIW...

We ain't got a single DB better than Deandre Baker. Soooo...

Well..........if we're talking strictly CBs. Mike Jackson's been showing up in mock drafts in the 1st/2nd round. Bandy's in his 2nd year and looks to be a slot corner. Dean looks to be a failed experiment. So what's your point?

Yea Baker is the real deal and has max potential

Coach Nacho has gone full Nancy Pelosi ****** in this thread
If you disagree with him. state why. Don't make a post that will simply derail the thread.

The 1st 3 pages of this thread are a derailment from another thread moved here.

Never said he didn't. I could take @Coach Macho seriously if he didn't try to spin the narrative in his favor.

His main focus on is on how our position coaches on the defensive side of the ball are green. Yet he compares Smart's (who's the head coach) to Rumph and Banda. Meanwhile, (Macho doesn't like when you mention this) Saban was the one whom coached CBs while at Bama. It's similar to how Richt coaches QBs here at Miami and when he was at UGA for a majority of his tenure.

I get it. Banda and Rumph deserve some criticism. But as it relates to TS, everyone and their **** cousin knows that kid has/is getting bags to go to Georgia. Even their own fanbase knows it. And that's the purpose of the discussion here.

And quite honestly, he's coming off as just as much of a whiny **** as those that constantly scream bags and that the NCAA needs to do something, or we can't compete with bags, etc...

He also can point out that he developed Jaquan Johnson into an all American safety let’s be real about the situation. Ray Shawn Jenkins is also in line to start for the chargers after seeing playing time on 3rd downs mostly for them last year.

Rumph is going to have a resume soon
Michael Jackson
Adrian Colbert- one of the best young dbs in the last draft class
Corn elder

Banda
Ray Shawn jenkins
Jamal carter -
Jaquan Johnson
Sheldrick redwine- with a great season he could be drafted
And for the record making a 53 man roster ain’t easy... lol

Y’all are reaching so bad. Real resumes include first rd draft picks and top fligh guys year over year. We are talking about 5th-7th rd draft picks for one year haha. Just face it. Our staff doesn’t match up well in the recruiting trail!

He’s solid but not a great athlete. When they get through athletic testing come draft season his game will be picked apart. Did you miss this?

Baker's good at technique, but straight up athleticism which is needed for a 1st rounder.....nah I'm good.

Are we matching up Banda and Rumph to UGA's position coaches? Or to Kirby?

If it's to the latter, then yeah, no **** they don't match up resume-wise. If it's the former, then let's get more of a break down.

They all got weaknesses i didnt sayhe was deon or revis.....**** i think MJ runs about a 4.58ish if i had to guess. The staff has made an AG special look amazing and i have to give them props for that and props tothe pressure by the DL. Baker gets help from UGAs front as well they r dogs in that front

I’m matching them up to the top schools in the country. This resumes don’t match up, period. Then you throw in the head coach of some of the top schools and we have no chance. Our leader is on offense and it shows with our recruiting. Our defensive staff is a liability on the recruiting trail until more results are shown.

That's a running play, and I might add that's a GREAT tackle, kid was about to go for big yardage

you don't even know who the assistant coaches are at other schools. Again, explain how Dell McGee, with no prior experience, is the #1 recruiter in the country?

Go look at UGA's 247 board. Their insiders are bragging about making kids offers they can't refuse. yet you and some others still somehow doubt the reality.

lol MJ will run in the 4.4s. He's really developed and has got legit high end speed now
