I'm mot making excuses. They played to stop the run and make then win through the air. They had that dialed in and then boom, in comes the man with a rocket arm, accuracy, and escapability with his feet.

I'll be honest, you would need a team like our last championship team to defend that. The only way to stop their offense will be straight up with people beating the guy they're lined up against.

Clemson isn't winning it this year. I mean, it's possible, but Bama has to be the huge favorite going in.

Haha I stay up this way with these Clemson fans and they just dont get it. They (majority) dont think he makes a difference, Lawrence is their savior and will get them over bama. I just cant see anyone beating bama honestly with the qb, but like you said it can happen. As a gambling man, I wouldn't put money on it

It's perception not reality. Overall the defensive staff has done well on the field but like you said they are all fairly new at this at this level besides Diaz. Obviously teams are using our lack of experience in Rumph and Banda against us but like you it could change if Jackson and Johnson ball again this year and get picked high in the draft. Jackson with another year like last year will be a first rounder. Jaquan won't have the measurables for round 1 but if he has another All American year he will be a household name.

But with that said you lying to yourself if you don't think bags are involved. Georgia got a kid who was leaning to LSU and Ole Miss to commit on that spot over the weekend. UGA is throwing bags all over the place.
 
Other than Banda the rest of the staff is mediocre at best in terms of recruiting. Diaz which has been great, has never been known to be an ace recruiter. Which is weird given his Miami connections but he's never been a guy that's been known to recruit this area like other Miami area coaches like Cristobal & Coley.

Imo Michael Jackson will get drafted higher than him. More atheltic , faster and better ball skills

I mean they went from not winning the SECC in over a decade to going into OT in the NC. This was in their HC 2nd season. Are bags being dropped? Of course, but the kids also want to win a championship and they know UGA is one of the few teams that could actually do it.

Deandre Baker is a toss up to go before Michael Jackson. He's not a top 10 pick though. And he's a giant puss. like forreal.

Bama and Clemson are different. I can see a player wanting to go to their schools if they are using the "I want to win" argument but don't go toe to toe with Clemson that often and we only go toe to toe with Bama for 1 or 2 kids a year.

But our program is on an uptick. If recruits can't see that then they didn't want to come here anyway OR maybe they were paid. Who knows.

That works when its UGA vs Bama, Clemson, OSU, etc. It does not work for us. Do you realize what TC and TS where fed by Kirby? Richt was here for 15 years and never made it to the NC. I made it to the NC in my 2nd year and took them to OT. Also, when we sign big 5 star kids like Lingard they become the ambassador to the class. UGA has 6 or so 5 star ambassadors each class.

This staff is missing a true recruiting giant. I mean Harley is the best then you got some good to above average recruiters. Rumph needs to go, Idgaf he needs to be replaced.

I think we’re a staff that can develop kids and get the most out of them that our previous staffs couldn’t do but they miss out on as many kids as Golden did and you have to ask yourself as a fan, do you want kids that can compete and get you to the coastal every year but that’s their ceiling or do you want kids to break that ceiling and become a true national contender? Because until we make changes to the staff we won’t be getting those national contender kids.
