Miami opens 11.5 point favorite at Cal

Bain warmed up vs vtech, thats what i was waiting on he didn’t warm up any game until that one i expect him to play unless he has a set back(God forbid). I honestly dont even know what rivers injury is so i expect him back after the bye week

I also think vtech has a way better team than cal, i think we win this easily and cover the spread.

FSU had 7 sacks and 12 tackles for loss against Cal! Their OL must be terrible. We should physically dominate them with Bain back if FSU could do that to them!

Cal is not good offensively, see their game against a terrible FSU team.

If we see our defense perform similarly to the VT game, then we should panic lol.

They're however a really good defense, the best we've faced so far. It'll be a good test for Ward and Dawson.

We haven’t played a team with a winning record.

resistance at 10, but more likely to break through to 9.5 than go to 13.

My guess is it ends up around opener.

In reality, any legit team beats this Cal team by 17+. Especially after the excuses made for the VT performance (which is fine, even the best teams have a game like that).

They don’t have it multiple weeks in a row, however.

Someone said Mendoza has been sacked 16 times this season…
Was sacked 16 times last year in 12 games. Weird. Feel like FSU had half of those 16 in one game.

Just checked stats. FSU sacked him seven times and SDSU sacked him SIX times. Whoa.

We should feast with Bain, Baron, and Barrow. Blitz Fransico, too.

Their OL is bad and banged up. FSU had 7 sacks and 12 TFL’s.

Again, any legit team smacks them around, especially if they had a poor performance like we did the week prior.

Don’t do what we did vs VT, go from up 21-7 to tie game. And honestly, if Cam didn’t fumble, it’s might be more, and that’s not a close game.

Keeping these teams in the game only give teams momentum and they play up. We are going to get everyone’s best shot.

Find a way to take and early lead. If Cal has to play from behind, Miami will pull away in a large way. Bain might remind everyone in college football who he is. Multiple sack type game.

I think Cam bounces back big. Takes it personally. Run game gets going end of first half and takes over second half.

Cover, easily.

SDSU and FSU games were back to back. That's 13 sacks in two weeks.

Fellas, that's like Zion Nelson and John Campbell as FR stuff....

I thought the VT defense played extremely well. And not just, "they looked good because we looked bad at times". That front 4 is pretty relentless and their secondary played at a very high level. Cam had to make some NFL type throws to fit it in the windows he had and the VT DBs were all over our guys. And then he got picked on some plays that were high level from their secondary.

The Va Tech defense that showed up Friday would give almost any offense in the country problems.

We lost to the Golden Bears in 2008 Emerald Bowl 24-17-

Javid Best had like 217 yards on the ground-

Jacory was our QB,Craig Cooper the RB ,Laron Byrd and Leonard Hankerson WR’s-

Think Patrick Nix was the OC-

Will win Saturday night-Mario knows the Cal program from his Oregon days-

They do have a history of producing good QB’s going back years ago the #1 pick of the Atlanta Falcons Steve Bartkowski-

Joe Kapp

Aaron Rodgers

Jared Goff

Joe Roth

Vince Ferragamo
Kyle Boller

the biggest issue for us is running the ball on anyone. we cant get it going on the ground when the game is on the line. hopefully it changes this week so we can give some slack to cam to not play hero every week.

The line doesn’t surprise me at all. I saw it at -13 and knew immediately that was going to be to get bet down.
Factors at play:
- looong road trip. Even ignoring the jet lag debate, it’s just a long trip.
-Cal had a bye to rest/prepare
-We’re coming off an emotional, exhausting win
-Mario hasn’t exactly been amazing against Wilcox and Cal as a HC
-Cal has a very good defense, at least statistically, and is well coached on that side of the ball
- and we’re still likely missing our all-conference LT

I’m expecting a strong showing from Cal in the first half. In fact Cal + the points in the 1st half is probably the most tantalizing play here more than the under.

Agree with your point on this being a game where a big boy team responds and at least wins by multiple scores. Hopefully that’s what happens and we don’t find ourselves in a one possession game late in the 4th.

Something like 27-20 wouldn’t shock be but I’d also be a little disappointed.
