Miami is firing DC Lance Guidry

Good.

He deserved to get fired.

His unit cost us a dream season. He just had to be average. Low expectation. Low goal ceiling. Large investment of NIL to make up for deficiencies. A layup for 50% of the DCs in the Power 4.

Guidry failed. The defensive product was embarrassing considering the investment.

Sorry a blowout against 3-9 Ball State doesn’t move the needle. FAMU had several drives that were sneak peaks into how bad the defense was. USF had something like their 3rd or 4th highest ypg against us and look at their schedule. That game also started highlighting the defensive struggles. It turns out, talent won out, but you can’t watch USF and FAMU in retrospect now and not see the signs. UFs offense just stinks, but right out of the gate you saw blown assignments and chunk plays.

This is all hindsight perspective. Early in the season I did think they were playing ok but if you rewatch and then compare to the late season you saw the scouting blueprint unfolding. Once we hit closer to equal talent levels they were getting their door blown off.

Brother, Miami's defense played LIGHT YEARS better against UF, A&M, Ball State, and USF.

Per the USF game, the Bulls scored 6 points total (zero in the second half) after the first quarter. The reason their passing numbers were bloated was because they had to fling it being down by 30 points. They threw the ball 43 times!! They ran for 62 years at 1.9 ypc. Stop.

There will be no more cut and paste. New DC will be given power to bring in his guys. I think no one is safe ( D Nick probably only one worth saving). JT can recruit, but not the developer or hard worker we probably need. All 3 SMU guys ( Harvey, JHH and Elijah) played better when they left.

They played in a better scheme that fit their talent. We had too many guys doin **** that they were uncomfortable with, and it showed.

It is what is brother. I'll die on the hill for the program. My loyalty is to the U, not one man and his politics and his Columbus High School cartel who is bankrolling his incompetence. Him and Manny are the same in my eyes. One used his rich friends from high school to get him the job. The other used his former mayor daddy to get it for him. I'm tired of these "Miami guys" treating this program like some status symbol. They all suck!

No, they aren't the same! Manny was a 1st time HC at Miami! Mario was a experience 11 year HC getting to Miami! Miami open up the check book for Mario!
