Miami declines opening 2014 vs. LSU in Houston

Hate the neutral site games. They always seem to benefit the Notre Dames and $EC of the world! Smart move James.

Yo Dandycane, watch ur mouth playa. I been following the U just as long as you have if not longer so if you dont like my post then just ignore it or come with an objective answer. I been a season ticket holder for 30 years. I can say what the ***** I want you bum. If your opinion is for us to duck and hide until we "are back" then go crawl back in your hole, get your post count as high as you can while us REAL cane fans go to the games, put our money where our mouth is, and support the team. You got alot of nerve especially for a **** with David Stern in his sig. You must not really be from Miami doin that ****.

We already play at Neb in 2014. Doesn't seem to make much sense to break in a new qb with Sept games at Neb and then basically a road game against LSU.

This is it. We aren't running from LSU. We already have a marquee match up on the schedule in Nebraska. Why would any of y'all want to line-up murderer's row for Baby Jesus. SEC teams don't play more than one High Profile OOC game. Why should we do it?

Jesus that OOC schedule for LSU is a DISGRACE. And then they want to schedule a "neutral" game against freshman QB first game of the year to make it seem like they are really challenging themselves.

We need a real playoff. This final four thing is even worse than the BCS.

I disagree 100%, the concept of a final four is much better than just 2 (current system). Although I think 4 isn't enough, at least 4 teams gives us a bigger and better sample of WHO should be competing for the national championship each year.

you saing this aint the 80's anymore like what does that mean? 2014 the canes are ***** made? trying to sneak into a BCS game? care that a first year player might hear people yelling really loud? dude there is going to be a time where we are going to ask him to preform in a NC game i would rather see how he does first game to a good team yall sound like females "we aint ready" stuff and think we are legit team if we dont play them

Not smart. The Miami program I loved played anyone and anywhere at anytime. We are looking for respect and opportunities like this are what gain respect on the national scene.

hate to break it to you, but this hasn't been the Miami program you loved in over a decade.

It's not the 80's anymore..

And? It's always been anyone, anywhere anytime. It's better to go after the Ga Southerns of the world?

Look at the schedule for the last 8 BCS champs... how many of them were playing a murderer's row of OOC games? This era of college football is about being undefeated.. and having 1 or 2 "signature wins".. Yes, you get more credit if you crush a hard OOC schedule.. but there's no need to load up like that any more. I'm not saying we should have a UF schedule.. but one marquee match up 2 solid BCS OOC games and one cupcakes is OK in my book.

And that's not even taking into account breaking in a new QB against a tough D.. no thanks.

Playing LSU with a freshman Qb starting his first game is idiocy. Build the team up and if we are successful we can play them in a bowl game. UF, LSU ,and other SEC and Big ten schools play patsies OOC and it never hurts them . They play 2 or 3 tough games in conference and thats it. SO by the end of the year they are in contention. Bioise State had 1 Marquee game all year and was often in the top 10. They dont play 3 of their first 4 games against BCS competition on the road like our previous idiot athletic directors scheduled. Remember in our dominant years we were in the East and had one or 2 OOC marquee games and dominated our conference. That built success which built national recruiting. So you macho guys tone it down Golden knows what he is doing.

Wow have the times changed. Thats all I gotta say. And im not talkin about the Canes either. Im talkin about some of you fans. Let ANY prgm (Esp Florida) try to duck us and we call them the biggest cowards in football! Wheres all the talk about how schools have been "duckin us for years" and how "we play anyone, anytime, anywhere"? Yes I get it. This isnt 1987 but I will be damned if this is 1997!

The game will be played next year when Duke will be in the Heisman race probably. Guys like Chick, Perryman and Pierre will be seniors spearheading the D. The offense will virtually run itself and dont give me the SM is gone crap either. With the weapons we will have available the transition wont be as hard as some of you think.

After this I dont wanna hear anymore BS from any fan who agrees with this about teams refusing to play us again. I wont call this a bytch move by the admin but this does come across a little scary on our part. And LMAO @ some of you actually AFRAID TO PLAY LSU but come on here talkin about how we BETTER compete for the ACC and be in a BCS bowl by next year OR ELSE. LMAO. So who the ***** you think we gonna be playin if we make it to the BCS?? FAMU? Florida Gulf Coast? Smh..I am very tempted to fade to black on this thread..I really hope no LSU fans wonder over here and see some of the coward BS being typed on here.

It reminds me of a science fiction program. We share the same stadium with the Dolphins and now we're slowly evolving into them, specializing in inept instincts and public relations, while draped in fear.

It's like we brainstormed to forfeit every argument we've ever made, to become a parody of ourselves. I've always said Florida is nothing more than Orange, Blue and Mostly Yellow. Now we want our share of the Yellow.

I remember the pre-glory days. What made them so special is we built into them by taking on all comers. We earned our ascension. Even if we were terrible in those years I have fantastic memories of upsetting Texas in the '73 opener, and the near misses at Oklahoma in '73 and hosting them in '75, when we lost 20-17 as 35.5 point underdogs.

Jim Kelly's astonishing debut was at Penn State, not hosting Temple. We were 19.5 point underdogs in that game, which makes it so special and is far greater than the number would be on a neutral site against LSU. As a gambler I agree it would not be a good spot. Who cares? When we manage another monster tier I want to remember all the necessary steps along the way, not the times I cheated myself, even if others failed to notice.

Beyond anything, if you decline tests like this you won't be ready even if you think you are. Glass jaw, like Notre Dame a few months ago. The way we're constructing our team we apparently believe it's Goodell's NFL, points a plenty, and not a ferocious SEC defense and running game we'll have to eventually overcome. Best of luck.

When we were in the Big East or independent playing two or three high profile games was a must. In today's game you just need one big OOC game and we already have a game lined up in Nebraska. Are you honestly saying Golden should sign on to go to Texas to face LSU and then go to Nebraska the following week? If so you are in the process of going full ******.

LOL @ 4Canes. That must be a pic of you and your boys in your dorm, playboy. Im a grown man. If you want to run to DandyCanes defense like a groupie then be my guest. But he dont know me and I dont know him. I gave my opinion without calling anybody out in particular. He called me a moron and questioned whether I was a true fan. Sorry but that dont fly where I come from. But then again this site is turning into grassy 2.0 so im not surprised. Carry on, gents. Fade to black..

This isn't 1989 dude. Wake up

When is it? Wow, I'm so confused. I don't know when it is. Have to check my watch, no my calendar. What is this thing I'm typing on? The TV has got lettering on it.
