### UM declined overtures to open the 2014 season against LSU at Houston’s Reliant Stadium – smart, considering it will be the first game for Stephen Morris’ successor at quarterback. UM doesn’t need him opening against a usually-stout LSU defense.

They forgot to mention Houston is a 4 hour drive from Baton Rouge, so that would be an LSU home game.

Not smart. The Miami program I loved played anyone and anywhere at anytime. We are looking for respect and opportunities like this are what gain respect on the national scene.

And this isn't the same program. This isn't the same college football landscape. No one plays anyone, anytime, anywhere today. It's not 1987, we have to adapt to the times.

Of course LSU offers with a new QB starting and a few hours away from BR. How about us offering 2015 or 16 in Tampa? ***** playing ND up north in cold weather unless it's a home and away game. How about in Atlanta, Sept or Oct in 2015 or later.

It's more important to build a solid program and not embarrass ourselves, before we try the whole any team, any time, any place motto. Build the program into a contender and we can get back to that.

Does getting invited to play LSU the first game of the season make us a pay to play cream puff on their schedule?
Just saying!!!
I would love to play them later in the season or post season as a premier match up.

But you schedule playing with a program that protects child molesters?

To be the best you have to beat the best. This is some ***** isht. The inferiority complex is sickening!

if you can't discern the difference between the two scenarios, then you really should follow another sport.

No, not at all. LSU opened with Oregon in Dallas. This is one of those marquee games that took the place of the kickoff classics.

I follow this sport regardless of either "scenario." So tell me, genius, what is the difference between a pr nightmare and the chance to be on the national stage and defeat an almighty $ec team? If you're scared, then you should really go to church.

LOL ur kidding right. u want a redshirt freshmans first game to be in tiger country against what will prolly be a stout LSU D. it is the smartest thing they couldve done. the days of playing everyone anywhere any time is over with now.

We already play at Neb in 2014. Doesn't seem to make much sense to break in a new qb with Sept games at Neb and then basically a road game against LSU.

No reason to give LSU a free home game against our new QB (whoever it is). Golden has mentioned that the 'anytime, anywhere' philosophy only makes sense when you atop your conference and have a seasoned team.

ND got a free home game out of us. This shouldn't happen ever again.

come on man. we havent won double digit games since 03 and you want us to have a redshirt freshman go up against a stout LSU D as his first game? you only schedule this game after hes gotten his feet wet and comfortable not right off the bat where he cant build confidence
