Mel Kiper Talks Miami

Just to put things in to perspective, I'd say that as it stands today, the Miami Hurricanes have a better head coach than the Dallas Cowboys.

Wrap your mind around that one. Our HC is better than the HC for the premier franchise in the NFL.

That ain't no joke.

If Al Golden wants to jump to the NFL, he will have the opportunity.

He better win this year or he is on the hot seat. This is the U.

Comments like this are simply laughable and embarrassing. This U has been ****ting blood for almost a decade.

This current coach has a minimum of 6 years to turn this former cluster**** around. He might have more if the NCAA doesnt get off its backside and decide.

Sure, but couldn't he show something in his third year, with one of the softest schedules of all time and a 4th year QB and Duke? An 8-4, 2nd to 3rd in the Coastal season and I'm not gonna be convinced. Year four is already a default, "Freshman QB" year. If he is ever going to win, I would think we win some games this year.

I guarantee you every other team in the ACC not named FSU or Clemson could only DREAM of having this team this year.

I am in, and on board, but if we go 8-4/7-5, I will not be next year.

I expect to improve, but struggle at the end of the year because of depth issues and injuries. If we stay healthy (not going to happen) we should be in the hunt for an ACCCG.

10/10, would read again.

Sounds like you need to wait until the season plays out.

Couple of thoughts:
1. I love people talking about the canes again in that way. Good publicity is such a nice change to crap we have been hearing the last couple of years. I think we all hope our defense makes the jump this year to support that claim.

2. One thing everyone mentions is Golden's undeniable value as CEO. That translates well outside the football field as well. You could argue that Golden displays traits allready of being able to handle any front office job. IMO, that's where he goes next in either college or pro. I think he is here for 7-8 more years though.

Hmmm been thinking about a college coach who was as accomplished as golden who was given a shot at the nfl. Can't think of one. Maybe someone else can.

Schiano pay attention

No. Schiano went 11-2 and beat a 12-1 l-ville squad coached by another coach with nfl skill set amongst other things. Golden isn't on schiano's level. In other words schiano accomplished more. Try again.

6 years!!!

This is Miami. Any coach with a clue can fall *** backwards into good enough talent to have this thing turned around in less time than that.

all he has to do is win the acc title game with this NCAA crap hanging over our heads and the media will be building statues around the country to golden.

no one more than AL knows he has a job to do..he is a very goal minded person and his goals are not 7-6..

This isn't goldens second season as a hc.

Sorry..but that is just silly. Anybody with an inkling of an idea of just how huge a task he's completed would never say that. This is now "Butch Davis territory" where you are fighting uphill AND STILL GETTING THE JOB DONE. Personnel, attitude, planning, execution ...the man is hitting on all cylinders.
Before he got here everyone was running away saying "I'm not interested in the Miami job". Guess what ? He's not even half way done yet and a lot of young up and comers are drooling at the mouth if he hints at leaving in the next couple of years. ***** Kirby Smart and the rest of 'em from the big-pocket backgrounds. If or when Al leaves you have a short-list of hungry bright young up and comers who've had to scarp for every break they got.

This isn't goldens second season as a hc.

schiano got to 11-2 in his 6th season abd never had another double digit win season ever again.

lrg comparing Miami to Rutgers. **** off lrg.
after your boy Randy got through with us we might as well be Rutgers.

in fact we haven't really been "miami" in over a decade.. now, we won't need 5-6 seasons to get back to that.. but to think we should be there already is nonsense.

The fact that you think Randy was "my boy" shows how dumb you really are, and how little you actually care about the 'Canes.
