Mayock gives props to Seantrel

Never realized how bad morris played in that game..

He needs to improve alot over the course of spring and summer. Gotta hit open receivers

If morris plays better we should of beat ND KS and FSU. He has no touch and cant hit open guys at all. Just got a great deep ball[/QUOTE]

I don't believe that Morris throws a "great" deep ball.

He's got a fantastic arm, one of the strongest I have seen in the last 10 years of watching college football.

Morris made a lot of plays on deep throws but he also over threw our guys A LOT!!

How many wide open receivers did we have running down the sidelines or on a post only to have Morris overthrow him by a few yards? It happened every game.

With that said I think Morris can be really solid for us. Like everyone says he just needs to stop trying to throw everything at 95 mph and realize sometimes 75 mph can get it done.

Putting all 3 of those on Morris is ridiculous

Like the defense was lights out lol. KSU could have dropped 70 on us

I know that but if he can be accurate we should also had dropped 70 on every team on the schedule last year cause guys were wide open.

Not sure why Seantrel always got knocked by fans, I guess being one of the top players fans kinda look down on him because of our record (Lamar also gets same type of backlash I have seen). After his recruitment dude has been pretty good here, even with coaching change seantrel was always mentioned as a good performer at Utough and the like, was in great shape last season prior to crash and for all talk of his parents havent heard a peep in paper or radio since he has been here compared to others. People despised him because he attended some close friends funerals but had it been them I am sure they would do the same. Sometimes the line of seeing these guys also as regular humans who want to pay respects to close childhood friends get blurred.

Also in every interview he is yes sir, no sir and very respectful to fans, good kid, hope he dominates and gets what he has always wanted. He can go first round with a great year, not first tackle though, that Michigan kid came back for whatever reason (had nothing to prove coming back) barring injury should be first oline off board

He got knocked for being a knucklehead who was constantly teetering on the edge of being booted out of the program and who needed constant babysitting and hand holding. He showed a LOT by coming back for his senior season. There's NEVER been a question about his ability. He's another one of those dudes who will be as good as he wants to be.

Cot****. The first two pass plays in that video show that Morris really needs to work on his touch. Those were scary misses.

Dare I say...robotic?

Morris's inconsistency is my only major concern on offense.

His final 3 games he shook off that inconsistency. Let's hope he carries that into his senior season.

Sure it was against crap competition but let's concentrate on one aspect that has me feeling pretty optimistic: Clive Walford.

Morris really started finding the TE running wide open in the middle of the field those last few games and it added another layer to the offense.

Now add the fact that Sandland is 100x the prospect Walford was and you've got two guys who might be ready to blow up this year

No need for the disclaimer, JH. He was inconsistent against some ****** competition earlier in the year, so the run he got on during his final 3 games was impressive regardless of the competition. We absolutely started using the TE more too, which I loved.

Duke and Morris were visibly hurt in the FSU game. Even Morris's velocity was affected, as some of his throws were all arm with nothing coming from his lower-body. Also, FSU's DTs got the better of our guards and Morris lacked mobility getting outside.

The North Carolina game raised more concerns than FSU, in my opinion.

His TD-INT ratio is what really stands out. Even when he was "on" he was still prone to an errant throw or taking a risk that cost us, but he was not only lighting up the stat sheet but he was also, dare I say, efficient down the stretch.

There's a middle ground with Morris that he lacked at critical times throughout the season that he seemed to find those last few games.

I'm pretty optimistic, I can't lie.

Morris´ deep ball is actuallly pretty horrendous. He has yet to understand the concept of putting some air under it and letting his receiver run under it. If I had a $ for every time a shouted at my screen cursing his dep ball last season, I´d have about 20 bucks.

He may have an all-timer of an arm strength wise, but throwing a frozen rope 40 yards downfield just makes it much more difficult to complete.

Victim of his own success IMO.

He was throwing the deep ball better than any QB in recent memory(should say having success with it) and UNC took it away. Morris messed up and didn't make the adjustment and kept firing. Still a young starter I think that's something he cleans up this year

His pass-to-INT ratio was the best since Dorsey in 2000. And that was Ken Dorsey throwing to Santana and Reggie.

You really think so? I never really had that feeling of impending doom that every Jacory drop-back gave me, quite the opposite. But maybe that was just me being conditioned by Japicky to expect the worst and the improvement by Morris seeming that much better in contrast.

Edit: I see, so Morris really wasn´t that bad on that front.

Been saying this forever now. 90% of this fanbase was ready to throw Seantrel out the door and move one. Ole boy was DOMINANT this past season. Go watch him against Prince Shembo from ND too. Completely took him out of the game.

Remember the throw on the sideline against Duke where the defender had about 15 seconds to make a play on the ball but chose not to?

The 7 INT's is impressive but the guy made some questionable decisions
