matthew changes stance on canes

we aren't gonna run that much of a 3-4. stop.
and i don't think thomas starts next year. over who? a healthy kirby, perryman or johnson?

What I really mean with this kid is that barring a 4 or 5 win season, crushing sanctions, or shady L$U type dealings, I'm almost certain this kid ends up signing with UM. I just think he'll play the game. I have a very hard time seeing a BTW player that UM has been on forever going somewhere else, unless one of the above happens.

Your right bro.......

Because Golden and Donofrio didnt run alot of 3-4/4-3 hybrid at Temple......Oh wait......

yeah, kirby hasn't played a down yet, but, from all reports and the fact they aren't redshirting him, everything points to him being a starter or was pointing to him starting before his injury.
i don't care what they ran at temple, we haven't really seen much 3-4 here.
and i'm sure thomas would play as a true freshman, just not sure he would start.
and given how recruiting heights and weights get exaggerated, i'm guessing he is in the 6'2 205 range, don't see him as a rush end or d end or whatever. stop.

We still get the numbers, but the star players haven't been there. That's probably what he's referring to. We have Graham as probably the only young superstar in the league where a decade ago we had like 10 or more young stars in the league.

Calais Campbell will be a superstar as more people see him. Beason has been an elite linebacker. If McCarthy ever stayed healthy he could make that leap. Lots of other guys making plays, like Travis Benjamin tonight. It's not what it was but still better than most if not all.

I agree with you on Campbell, he slipped my mind. Not saying we don't still have a ton of talent in the league, but I just don't see the Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Andre Johnson, Sean Taylor caliber players. Of course those guys are all-time greats, so it may not be fair. And you're right we still have as much if not more than almost every other school, but when you compare it to the early 2000s it doesn't compare. Then again, that's a completely unfair comparison because no school has ever done that and probably won't again. We've definitely been spoiled with players in the league.

Thank about the mind set the players would have going into the league with a real coach like Al. Coaching can prepare for the league...talent gets you so far. October recruiting is fun to read, but kind of like reading a suspense novel! Still love our chances with any kid from So. lauderdale to homestead!

How many linebackers have got serious burn already this year? 6? 7?

Regardless. If Thomas comes, he'll play significant minutes. And he'll push the others, creating the culture of skilled competition, to the betterment of all, that we want.

If you look at what we are recruiting at DL/LB I think it shows a willingness by the staff to play some 3-4.

This kid's going to play anywhere he goes, but especially here. We are absolutely dying for someone who can get off the ball and pressure a quarterback. He can do it very well. His athleticism is such that he's going to be valuable even before he puts on all the weight he still definitely needs to add.

he plays like that dude that plays at South Carolina... #7 Jadeveon Clowney

who are we bringing in that tells u we will run some 3-4?
who??
6'4 210 means 6'2-6'3 200.
clowney? c'mon, man.

why can't briscoe just be a dt here and hamilton and o'donnell ends? like we've had in the past?
when are we unveiling this 3-4?

That's a question for the coaches. Briscoe was working a lot at end during fall practice

I could also see Bostwick as a potential 3-4 DE, Bryant possibly. I could see Chickillo on the current roster being fine as a 3-4 DE.

You don´t have to be a superstar in the NFL to earn more than these kids could ever dream of making otherwise.....
