matthew changes stance on canes

I've said this a few times before but as long as we show life on the field and don't get killed by sanctions I think we get him.

From the very beginning he was very adamant about winning. We need to keep this thing going and it will take care of itself.

Once we get Thomas or someone Thomas-esque, we are going to run the3-4 defense. Mark my word. Thomas and Williams fit the mold of the hybrid de-lb. And will be utilized on that way.

I like having the ability to switch it up from play to play, and theoretically that is what guys like McCord and Thomas give you. Keep the offense guessing what is coming from where.

basically said that at first he didn't consider Miami, but now he is understanding what the coaches were talking about in terms of what the school has to offer both academically and athletically. States that recruiting for the most part is on the back burner until the end of the season but still talks to coaches every now and then. Looking for programs on the rise like Miami and that they are even with all other schools, no leaders. Keeps in touch with Golden and Barrow. Golden keeps telling him how they need him there and are building a nat'l title team and just waiting for 6. Spoke with Barrow this past Sat. That's all I can remember.

You guys have to watch him in person to truly appreciate the type of player he is. I have no doubt he will be an all-time great at Miami if he chooses to come here. His talent on the defensive side of the ball is unprecedented.

Pete, any new news on Thomas that you have personally heard?

I continue to hear how important his mom is to his decision and that she REALLY wants him here. It was only a matter of time before he made comments like this

Pete I'm assuming you mean his mom? LOL

But hey didn't Howard's mom want him at UF?

But hopefully Thomas follows Momma's lead to UM

I would be stunned if he didnt start here as a true freshmen.

Honestly, he'd be starting right now

Exactly, with the difference being that Thomas is more comfortable in space than McCord is.

Sooo...

The best OLB in the country

The best running back in the state of Florida

Top 5 QB in the country

Best Offensive Line prospect in the state of Florida

Two of the top 10 (maybe 5) DB's in the state of Florida

I'd say Mr. Golden has an idea about this recruiting thing. One of the best classes in the country...AGAIN!!!!

Bostwick and Bryant are without a doubt two of the best linemen as well. I heard Bostwick is killing people this year.

He's like Duke on defense IMO. He looks so natural and he plays against some of the best in the country and constantly makes big plays in different ways.

I've always felt that to a certain extent, '12 was a foundation class, while '13 will be the class to supplement that foundation with star power. Thomas, Collins, Olsen, Burns, Carter, Bryant, and Bostwick would go a LONG way towards helping that theory..

Good point. We discussed this back in 08/09 in the same way. 08 should have been the foundation, and actually produced a lot of starters and contributors. Where we failed miserably was adding onto that class in 09.

Golden seems to be in line to add elite talent not only this year, but next year as well. We will see.
