Pull whatever Nebraska did with barney. We’re alive and in it. Now Drop the bag and do whatever necessary overpay and lock in a big commit. Not only would this be landing the first big fish on the DL it’s big for optics and momentum

It wasn’t just a bag from Nebraska that did it. Don’t let the narrative push it too far

Nebraska was on him longer and the money sealed the deal. It wasn’t like they just came outta nowhere with more money

He was gonna commit to us. Everyone thought it. There was a commit edit to miami for him. Writers insiders staff the crystal balls were on him to miami… Then a big bag swayed it. It was money that did it. Nebraska has recruited for a while yes but money landed him. Now do it with Lightfoot

I probably shouldn’t say this, but I’m as plugged into the UM side as ever. If it’s coming from me, it is airtight from the UM perspective.

The issue is that we aren’t in the minds of the kids being recruited.

Well maybe I should clarify that I’m not doubting your connections at all

But how many decades of recruiting you gotta to follow to know that sometimes the families don’t even KNOW. The kid doesn’t even know until the announcement sometimes

So while it’s cool to say we are in a good spot for this kid, it really doesn’t mean much of anything to me.

I could elaborate on why I think differently of guys like Breland, Scott etc than I do Lightfoot but people wouldn’t read it anyway so it is what it is

It means something to a lot of people, just not to me

I’m not sure if people on this board actually interact with human beings or not in the real world sometimes

It’s not really me saying anything negative to you

But the board needs to stop following the crumbs the insiders give and also use a little critical thinking on their own sometimes

This is coming across maybe way more harshly than I intended @JgDaCane maybe it was the preworkout I dunno. Just meaning I think we (all of us) are getting to fixated on one guy at a time because we are desperate for some good news but the big questions about our recruiting can’t be answered until down the road when we can look back

So I appreciate our insiders and I don’t think they share things “for clicks” or any of that but we have so many “rules” we gotta best with this DL class that I gotta see it happen first.

Anyway, I’m ****ed off too. We got bodied on the field and recruiting is supposed to fix that. So no offense intended to anyone, certainly not you or D
