Cam is getting slammed by a bunch of losers.

His draft stock was not affected at all. If anything, GM's exhaled when he didn't go back in.

Just a stupid manufactured controversy not even worth addressing.

Let them slam him. They gonna be real quiet when Commissioner Goddell calls his name for that #1 pick.

The whole situation just sucks. One or both of these statements are true (and they both suck)

- Cam (or his reps) were afraid of getting hurt, but wanted to set the NCAA record for TD passes so he played a half.

- Mario wanted to see Emory in a competitive situation so he made Cam sit out the 2nd half

The sad part is this has become normal in CFB. Instead of only worrying about tweaking the playoffs or continuing to consolidate into a P2, the powers that be need to end bowl games. Fewer upperclassmen and those in the portal don't play in them anymore. Who wants to watch this ****? More importantly, who wants to pay to travel to and for tickets to a bowl for a freaking exhibition?

It’s wild that anyone is criticizing Cam at this point. In today’s climate, no one is playing in this game if put in Cam’s situation. It’s amazing he even played today.

Just creates this awkward dynamic where your saying hey, I’m playing, but only for a half.

It’s the definition of not being all in. Mario talks about culture. Either play or don’t. But the I’ll play a half BS is what has the fans in shambles.

Coach should have just said that he appreciates all that Cam did for the program this year and he was overjoyed that Cam wanted to compete in the bowl game, but he needed to give the backup QB, who is returning next year, a half to play competitive football as the coaches are still assessing and deciding on what the QB room will look like next year.

Put your hand up and take responsibility. You're the head coach. Disappointing, mealy mouthed quote Coach gave in the presser.

This is the answer fans want. Not the we keep that stuff private bs

I think you genuinely have to be a complete ****** to not understand the situation lol.
Him playing a half or at least until he broke the record was clearly the plan. And clearly the staff wanted to see Emory live. I really don't know what idiots can't comprehend that...

The staff did not act like the staff wanted to see Emory live. The staff (at least offensive) seemed like they knew Emory wasn’t capable and called plays accordingly.

Exactly. If you wanted to see Emory live then you run the same plays. He literally only had like 1 screen pass until the very end..

There are no good answers IMO. At the end of the day, they didn't play to win the game. This was a scrimmage with pop tart mascots running around the field.

Non-playoff bowl games are officially dying off now. Who is going to pay top dollar to see these "games" anymore? Not me.

Mario should have come out of pocket and asked Cam to finish the fourth quarter. Losing this game to Iowa ******* State is an inexcusable backbreaker to end the year. That ************ went 1-3 down the stretch.

Is it possible that Mario could have talked Cam into playing the last drive? Maybe.

Does Mario have the in game composure to even think of trying to do that? Almost certainly not.

But I would bet everything that Mario wanted Cam to play the whole game and Cam is the one who chose in advance to play less than the whole game.

Mario wanted to win this game. And it was painfully obvious that they didn’t trust Emory to run the offense. If that was an “audition”, that was the dumbest audition in the history of auditions.

The team was so interested in seeing what they had in Emory they mostly let him hand the ball off. They know what they have and don't have.

The plan was actually working until they **** the bed in inside the five yard line. I think they score a touchdown and go up ten if they just run the ball on second, third, and fourth down if necessary.

Think about it. It wasn't an audition. The playcalling showed that. They know what they have in Emory. He played in a game and 3/4 last year. Some scrub work this year.

All parties involved have the stench of this bs on them.

Dawson has consistently shown this...thats why i lol at the thought of "the staff is comfortable" with emory that must only be Mario because Dawson doesnt at all lol

May need 2 portal qbs at this point , one a grad transfer n 1 with multiple years
