Marco Wilson Announcement

"Had Richt kept Hurlie Brown and named him CB coach he'd have landed all the AH guys"
That would have been the better move. Hurlie made more sense...ex cane, continuity in recruting and more experienced.

Hurlie would not have got any and he wasnt that good of a coach.

I don't know if he would have gotten any or not. As far being "not that good of a coach"
That's your subjective opinion. What is a fact is that Hurlie was more experienced at the college level.
It's my subjective opinion that Hurlie would not have promoted a rivals comitment

I will say this. I think if rumph was at fsu or uf he would get those heritage dudes. For whatever reason they dont seem to like miami.

If that's the case...it's a wierd situation. I guess he never pushed for UM over spoke up for UM when he was the coach there...that or he was the least influential high school coach in history.

I heard the players and coaches at heritage love rumph. Its also been said that golden didnt really recruit heritage. Maybe thats the root of the problem. Maybe these dudes have never felt wanted by miami. I dont know what it is.

Yeah they love him so much they want to play for other people. Just wondering, how long are you and others going to blame Golden?

I'd rather focus on great linemen, that's much more important. SF is filled with great athletes, we need linemen.

I'd be more disappointed if we weren't bringing in a strong db class without him and a savage one ext year. Not a good look for Rumph but I'm willing to see what he does with our corners before tossing him aside. It doesn't matter to me if him or Banda are bringing in the DB recruits, as long as they are being brought in.

Yeah, not buying it. That family has been on a mission to **** with UM. Chad is a jealous ***** made traitor who would use his wife as cover for this. Randy laughing, btw...

Agand tbat staff treated his son like ****.....cant be mad especially because his bro is enrolled and he wants to be with fam. AG fked this up
You'd think they could chalk it up to Alf and distinguish Richt from Alf but they're not doing that... They're just mad at Miami...at least the mother as sounds like it. I'm most ****ed that Rumph pumped up the announcement of a kid going to the Gaytors.

So do you guys think Coach Richt should fire Rumph tonight? Serious question.
Never should have hired him. It's pretty obvious he's in way over his head and that this job is too big for him. Poor evaluation by Richt.

Let's put it this way. Richt recruited AH better at UGA than the former HC at AH can recruit it from right down the street.

Had Richt kept Hurlie Brown and named him CB coach he'd have landed all the AH guys.

Maybe we should ask Shaq's dad that question since those three freshmen linebackers were all recruited by Hurlie.

A few days ago most people on this thread was saying Wilson was basically a lock to be a Gator. Now that it actually happened all of a sudden it's f*ck Rumph. Yo I know everyone wants to land every recruit but dam y'all be acting real hurt over this sh*t. This site will probably crash after we lose one game smh.

At least let the man show whether he can or can't coach before you fire him. If our db's show significant improvement from Rumph's coaching then I would take that any day over him getting a recruit who never planned on coming here anyway.

Man WTF part don't you get?!?.....people ain't trippin cause he didn't get the commitment, people calling that dumb **** a bum cause he promoted a gaytor commitment

But he wasn't promoting a gaytor committment. He was promoting a friend's radio show.

Rumph doesn't give a **** were these kids go. He wasn't *****ing when Byrd de-commited. He wish him the best, and understood that Tennessee was the best place for him if he didn't want to be here.

Rumph must believing in his ability to coach whomever is on his squad.

Is that Rumph or Banda though??

Does it matter? Not every single coach needs to be the best recruiter. We have 2 DB coaches, as long as one of them is getting the players, that's all that really matters.

True but if recruiting was not going to be the main focus for his position then Richt should have hired a coach with more experience.
Not just a high school coach.

I don't know how 247 is attaching all these commits to coach ***. Jobe, Patterson, Burns were all committed to Golden. What exactly did Rumph have to do with that? Frierson and James are related to loyal canes who were most likely to come here regardless of Rumph. Malek Young was committed to Richt at Georgia, so Rumph probably had little to do with his recruitment. Ford has talked about coach Kool being the reason he committed to UM. Henderson has been waffling on his commitment and hasn't said anything regarding who was most influential in him choosing UM. The same can be said for DJ Ivey.

Exactly...its like giving M. Cristobal credit for kids that were going to Bama anyway. They didn't go there because of him. I could have been the recruiter and they would have gone there......And I have 0 coaching experience lol

No other big time school would miss a kid who
A. Is the son of a former player AND
B. Has the kid's High School Coach on staff

That **** just does not happen

Exactly. Trevon Grimes mom wants him at Miami but it's a given that he'll choose osu because he spent a few years in ohio....

Man you guys are ridiculous yall knew **** well he was a uf lock from the get go and now that it happens yall just see it as another opportunity to bash rumph...30 pages for a dude who makes his names at 7 on 7, combines and a vine video gone viral im not saying he cant ball or he wont this upcoming year but the guys we have commited at cb as of now are better and dont get no where near the attention yall giving wilson

Then yall feel he entitled to go to miami just because his old highschool coach is there yall dont know what type of relationship they had, wilson a 17, 18 year old kid he see his big bro ballin at uf and might even go 1st round when eligible he probably feel he will do the same it is what it is, hope yall show this love when bandy commit who is better at the moment btw..

Nothing to see here. Wilson seems overrated and our other db targets are way better. Kid dosent wana be a Cane so ***** em, we need kids that want to be here and be Canes. Also, who give a rats *** who recruits who? If Banda is the one recruiting and landing these db targets, than who cares if Rumph is? Long as Rumph can coach em up and develop them better than the last coach thats all I care about. I truly believe hes going to ball out as our db coach

For the record, I thought the Rumph hire was Richt's worst hire. Why not keep a guy like Beard on staff who had already learned on the job and had better local connections? But he's here now, and tbh, I don't think Wilson makes a difference. You have Henderson, Edwards and Bandy. Followed in 2018 with Burns, Ivey, Blades and Campbell. So the real question is if Rumph can coach or not. It worries me a lot more to hear gogeta questioning his coaching ability than to hear he got punked by the Wilsons, who are a family of rat ********.

Geo, respectfully, I just don't believe that bull**** that Chad was trying to talk up Miami to Marco and it was his wife who made Marco commit to UF. If that were the case, wouldn't he have at least given a heads-up to his boy Rumph that Marco wasn't coming? No, he planned this to make Rumph look like a fool. Remember Chad's promise that more surprises were coming. Well, that was the only truth he's ever told to Miami. Guy is a ****er and shouldn't be allowed on campus.

Calling a kid who has worked hard enough and is talented enough to get pretty much a full ride to attend pretty decent schools of his choice a rat *******. Also calling his family rat ********. Seems legit.

They love him so much they can't stand to be around him. They run from him like the plague.

He's getting paid $250k per year to care and to deliver.

You guys are ridiculous with some of the **** you spew. He doesn't care? He's just promoting a friend's show? LOL. Do you understand the concept of him working for UM and being paid handsomely to deliver results?

I can't believe the multiple of CRY BABIES verbally torturing one of our coaches and former player. Give it a break guys and focus on more important things in life. This is a teenage kid choosing a college to play football. This is still America and he gets to choose where he wants to play. So big deal, his Dad played here but that means little today. Remember this, these kids today do not view the UM football program like many of us do. For the majority of the past 10 seasons its been very disappointing to say the least. It's up to CMR to wins games and bring UM back on the top of the college football landscape. If and when that happens we will get our share of great recruits who wants to play for a winning program and great coach. I hope all of you are doing your due diligence on the upcoming election. The time spent here for some of you on recruting is very scary. After all, football is NOT going to change your lives but the upcoming election certainly will to say the least! GO CANES
