Same kid I've preached that his hype has come off 7on7 and camps. Wasn't a starter at USchool as a freshman, didn't start his sophomore year at AH and was a situational player. Didn't play as a junior due to injury. Blew up off a backflip video. Tell me what Marco has done? Athletically the kid has it but I'm not losing sleep over this at all. He has a LOT to prove this year.

Word I got from a reliable source to UF staff. Chad did try to help out Rumph with getting Marco here, but Momma Wilson got in the way. She had Chad break off training with a commit we have as well. FWIW

For the record, I thought the Rumph hire was Richt's worst hire. Why not keep a guy like Beard on staff who had already learned on the job and had better local connections? But he's here now, and tbh, I don't think Wilson makes a difference. You have Henderson, Edwards and Bandy. Followed in 2018 with Burns, Ivey, Blades and Campbell. So the real question is if Rumph can coach or not. He's even striking out on legacies whose dads coached under him. This is an unparalleled fail in the history of the college game what Dumbph is doing here.

Does it matter? Not every single coach needs to be the best recruiter. We have 2 DB coaches, as long as one of them is getting the players, that's all that really matters.

Yes Rumph looks a little behind when it comes to recruiting, but if he turns out to be a great db coach, in a defense that expects a lot from their dbs, then all is forgiven. Not every coach on staff is going to be a great recruiter. For some positions (qb, ol, dl?, db) you really want a technician as coach. Its possible that we have both at the db position, its just not the same guy...hence 2 db coaches.

There is no way in the world Mike Rumph will promote an anoucement from a player unless Chad Wilson told him he was coming.
