Marco Wilson Announcement

So is a db haul of CJ, Deejay, Edwards, Bandy, and maybe Amari Carter good enough?

We really need a polished, pure corner in this class. I love CJ's upside, but he's raw AF (although probably my favorite DB recruit). Deejay is super athletic, but isn't a corner only type (I think he can grow into a beast though). Edwards is a safety/corner tweener with great size, but probably destined for safety or nickel. Bandy is a straight up nickel and Carter is more of a safety. We need someone like Marco because are going to need someone that can step in right away on the boundary. Most of these guys will need some time.

Good point

No. We need one true boundary corner. CJ and Deejay don't have much experience at the position and it will take time for them to learn. Edwards is more of CB/S type and he will probably be a swing guy. Bandy is a pure slot corner. Carter is strictly a safety. We need one true day one starter at the position. Wilson is one of the few people we are after that fills that role.

When does this kid committing ? In tired of wasting time on him . I would focus more energy on keeping Henderson and getting BAndy . Wilson isn't going to Miami

I didn't see this post, I'm thinking exactly the same.

The issue with the AH kids isn't Rumph. It's the kids.

He recruited these kids to AH from all over South Florida. Loyalty to the home team isn't really in their dna. They are creatures of self-gratification and NOW, instead of consistency and allegiance. We shouldn't be surprised if these kids aren't flocking to Rumph like we might want or expect. The only reason they know him is bc he convinced them to shun their local school and go across town to another school with better facilities, support, and more blue chop players. He basically used the same pitch schools continue to use against UM to build AH up.

Same can be said about Aquinas kids yet we still manage to pull some from there.

True. I think the difference at STA is George Smith. STA prided itself for years in its kids sticking to their commitments and not playing games. They're not that stringent about it since he stopped coaching, and now that Harriot's the coach, so we'll probably see more of their kids playing the game.

In regards to Marco -- people gotta remember that Chad's a Cali boy. USC wouldn't be a shock at all.
Chad's not really a Cali boy. He was born in NY and grew up in Florida. I think he did his first 2 years of high school in Broward and his last 2 in Cali when they moved there after his sophomore year because of his mother's job.

Yeah, think he did a year or two at Long Beach State, too.

I'll tell you one thing with absolute certainty. If Wilson's kid picks somewhere other than UM, UM needs to blackball him immediately. If you can't even send your own kid here, then you're a useless traitor and can't be trusted.

What did Mike Irving say about Mike Jr? "My son can go anywhere he wants as long as it's UM." These flim flam dudes need to learn from The Playmaker what it's like to be a man.

Powerful post

Irvin went as far to to tell his son that if he wanted to go to another school he could go ahead and move out and start supporting himself.

Ya thats what he said. Said he can choose anothers school but he wont be getting anymore of daddies money lol

Yeah, I think he transferred from because they folded the Long Beach State football program. I don't have a good feeling that he's coming here. Pete said the coaches aren't aware of anything as to him committing/announcing. I don't expect it to be in our favor.

Marco belongs here. How insane would it be if both of Chad Wilson's sons ended up gators? That would be deeply deeply disturbing. Of course UM would not be in this painfully awkward situation if Golden had one single iota of common sense. Ryan Mayes over Quincy Wilson? LMAO

Chad was just on campus as an alumni coach for Paradise Camp were Marco participated. Is it just me or would it seem like a big slap in the face if 2 weeks later Marco announced to Florida? We need to get Marco period end of story.

Bandy will commit here, and he'll get a single, 2 page thread.

Marco Wilson, a kid who hasn't even started a HS game on the other hand, somehow gets 20 threads.

A lot of posters here take sick pleasure in emphasizing the negative, I really don't get it

If he chooses the Gaytes, which many think he will, then there is no way that Chad or any of them can ever say that they love the U. No true Cane would let his kids **** on the U like this. At that point, he becomes persona-non-grata, in my opinion. Quincy I can understand. We all know the kind of clown show that Alfredo ran, (exhibit A, not offering Q). But this is a different staff with a Cane as head coach and mentor.

Anyone thinking that this is okay needs to have their Cane card taken for good.
