Marco Wilson Announcement

Rumph is going to get beat in the trail its expected, these kids want to play for a coach that has a resume with players they have developed. Rumph has to prove he can develop talent (wich I believe he will) the recruiting **** will be easy after that.

If its the case he should have never been hired to begin with. UM is not running a coaching camp where these guys can get on the job training esp. at a need position such as CB.

You rather an ace recruiter over a great teacher at Db ? This is a quote from
A gator coach himself "the thing about rumph is that he will get beat this year but once he starts developing kids like he's known for its a wrap will be a nightmare on the recruiting trail".

Me personally I rather a teacher that develops talent at the position not an ace recruiter, look at the success coach kool is having why ? Cause his resume speaks for itself, these kids don't care about relationship they wanna make it to the league if you have a track record of putting kids in the league the recruiting comes easy.

Amen to this☝🏾️. Although we might not get all the kids we want (right now). We are getting more than enough talent, that will be "coached up" by Rumph. Some of our greatest secondaries were comprised of kids that wanted to be here, worked hard, and recived good coaching! We never grabbed all the 5*'s. Give em time. In the mean time, Kool and the pass rush will cover the holes. 🙌🏿

we need him bad, hopefully he sees he can start here early. I think he's a gator though

Its sad that Rumph cant even get a former player and one of his close friends son to come and play for him..Honestly if he cant get croots he is dam near related too what is he here for?

You know Pete is cool with Chad he's not gonna spill the beans for his son...Gonna give him his 15 seconds of fame..

This. Even The Weirdo Paul Williams was a better recruiter.

The issue with the AH kids isn't Rumph. It's the kids.

He recruited these kids to AH from all over South Florida. Loyalty to the home team isn't really in their dna. They are creatures of self-gratification and NOW, instead of consistency and allegiance. We shouldn't be surprised if these kids aren't flocking to Rumph like we might want or expect. The only reason they know him is bc he convinced them to shun their local school and go across town to another school with better facilities, support, and more blue chop players. He basically used the same pitch schools continue to use against UM to build AH up.

I have compiled a list of all the D1 players from American Heritage since 2012 to 2018 (Mike Rumph started coaching there in 2011) and the school they committed to. Out of 34 D1 players, we were fortunate to get 2 star Walter Tucker (not even on the team any more). Simple stats indicate that the home team Miami Hurricanes have 3% chance of signing a player from that school.

Same can be said about Aquinas kids yet we still manage to pull some from there.

While I think it's dumb to say Rumph should be fired before his first season, I can definitely see the concern from some considering not he has never coached at the collegiate level and can't seem to get his former players to come here up to what we've seen

how does "simple stats" tell you we have 3% chance of getting a heritage kid when we didn't offer at least 20 kids on that list? Not to mention you included multiple players who haven't signed yet

True. I think the difference at STA is George Smith. STA prided itself for years in its kids sticking to their commitments and not playing games. They're not that stringent about it since he stopped coaching, and now that Harriot's the coach, so we'll probably see more of their kids playing the game.

In regards to Marco -- people gotta remember that Chad's a Cali boy. USC wouldn't be a shock at all.

People are jumping the gun on Rumph.

We've been irrelevant for over a decade and haven't played a single game under the new regime. Let's see how the season plays out.

Vern spitting truth.

Rumph is turning into that William H. Macy character from The Cooler. It's like they send Rumph in to cool down UM's momentum any time UM gets on a roll.

You hire a HS coach for the energy and connections he brings in recruiting. To say Rumph's been anything but an abysmal failure so far is disingenuous. We might be the only school in history that hired a HS coach and couldn't get any of the guys he coached in HS. Ouch.

To add to that, 12 of those players went to big time programs and Richt snagged 3 and Miami 1, so you could say we have a 25% - 33% chance.
