If Diaz has zero control over who they recruit he could have some success imo.

It's not like we had no success here defensively guys. Not saying he has a great defensive scheme, but it CAN work solidly. But if he has any say in recruiting, this will only end very badly for them lol

If Diaz works under a head coach the players respect, then they'll respect him and try like the Canes did the last half of the season.

I'm sure he'll look fine against Rutgers, Illinois, Maryland etc. but Taint, Wisky and Sparty are going to brutalize him very early on unless the defensive assistants are bringing in elite DL and LB's.

I mean, good for him, I guess. I hope there really is some buyout offset involved, but who knows.

That said - I mean, how could he really have the gravitas necessary to take on such a role at a prominent school, with the stack of evidence of how poorly his defenses perform? At this point, there are enough examples of his defense getting shredded, no matter what the talent level.

I'm truly shocked by this. And also amused - I am surrounded by PSU people and it will be fun to start the PSU Tears thread once they start missing tackles.
